Today, after looking through the weekly screenshots, I realized that there are alot of interesting little things that will be in the game that some people might miss! fearing that there could be a someone without some of my information, I created this list. Each entry has a title above it and a caption below it. Here you can find anything ranging from the terrains, gaia objects, speculations, and uncomplete units and missed buildings. The list will be updated weekly, as the new screens come out. Mostly written from a scenario designer's point of veiw.
The Screenshot CompendiumDeep Water
This is (probably) the "water, deep" of AoMLand Rocks
These are rocks that are found on land, unlike shore rocks belowPalm Trees
These are the Palm Trees of AoM. no big surprises.Plant
one of the plants in AoM, undoubtably simmilar to the plant of AoK.Plant
Another Plant, see abovePlant
Another Plant, see aboveShallow Water
The "Water, Shallow" of AoMShore Rock
seemingly a rock that only goes on the shoreRock
Probably the same as the other "rock" but a better pictureNorse Tower
A Norse Tower, no clue why this isn't in the "buildings" sectionMountain
This is an odd object that units are seen going around, not very clear in the screenie. Possibly a mountain or cliff.Damaged Tower
A tower, probably damaged by enemy forces. nice fire animation.Elevation
A great example of elevation in AoM, very nice.Fish
Probably used by fishing boats
Mist
I am of the opinion that this is mist, although it could be simple desertUnbuilt Building
This picture shows the foundation for a building, as well as the female villagerWaterfall
Arguably the best eye-candy we have seen so far. I pray they will be in the editor. Notice the lightingFish
More FishWaterfall
Another waterfall. Notice the different angle and lightingZebra
Gaia animals for AoMReeds
Nice plant to put in and around swamps and lakesShallows
Great looking shallows, as well as the wading units and dead one.Turtle
Off at the very edge of the screen, this could be a Myth unit or Gaia object. either way it looks cool
Zoom
This picture clearly shows the zoom feature of the game. The camel is much bigger than in other shots.Footprints
The units leave footprints in the sand. It might be the time of day, but this sand looks different.Grass
Simple, basic grass.Alligator
A nice Gaia animal, they were cool in AoE.
Flowers
likely a Gaia plant.Lily Pad
Great eyecandy for water scenesGreek Mining Camp
Why isn't this is the greek buildings section?Rain
Some may argue that the whitish streaks in this shot are rain. Possibly only appears during the lightning God-Power.Myth-Unit
I think this is a Myth unit because it was near grey troops. Notice the grey dotsSunset
Notice how the colour is different at one end from the other. Conclusive evidence that the sun crosses the sky during the gameGold Mine
The AoM style gold mineLumbercamp
Possibly the egyt lumber camp as it was near trees. Not really detailed enough though. it is not an early age mining camp, as there was the current one elsewhere in the pictureRoad
The desert road in AoMSand
Sand. Desert. Dune.Woodpile
What are all of these little wood piles for? do the villagers pile their wood as they cut and then carry it back?Lighting
nice, big, pic. A prime example of lighting in AoM. notice the torches on the fortress lighting the building? There is even argument that they are lighting up the water at the top. I hope the firelight flickers, that would be coolRaft
Yes, the monkey! but more importently, the raft. Can it move or does it stay in place as eye-candy. It would be muchos cool if you could have a marooned sort of thing going on.Fish
Very good looking fish, they dive underwater well. I like the colour too.
Fish
Weird looking fish, they have flat heads and look pretty bad. Two triangles glues togetherUnderwater
Hopefully evidence that you can place terrain underwater like in EE. Even if not, the island effect is very, very, cool.Beatle
Weird bug thing, almost definatly a MU. where is its colour?
Diverse Palms
Notice how pretty the palms look? all differnt kindsHippo
A little small. Hippos are cool, and it gives the guy who makes the FPH mod an easier timePotted Palm
I am going out on a limb here, but I think this is a potted palm.Elk
deer, moose, whatever. anyway, sweet eye-candy. animals are good.Norse Temple
I don't know about you, but I think this is the Norse Temple. In the screen there is a gaint walking away from it.Pine Forest
nice mix there, I hope it is automatically snow pine when placed on snowSnow Road
A bit vibrant green there, no? Anyway this is, I think, a snow road. On the topic, the minimap green snow ruins alot of effect. I think it should be an option instead of a forced thing.Water
More water. probably at a differnt time of day, but I somehow got it into my head that it was lighter because it was by snowGrass Clumps
If you look at this picture you can make out tiny clumps of grass. I hope they are a seperate item.Ruins
Maybe a destroyed building, but this also could be a ruins object.Whale
Save the Whale! animals rockTerrain Fade
Another big one. Look at how the snow fades into sand. very nice, although very unrealistic.Lumbercamp
No clue what this is. not a house or mining camp. It is probably a better candidate for lumbercamp.Pigs
More Animals! adds great detail to a citySheep
Very cool. White sheep were getting old, plus it stands out better against the desertTower
What on earth is this? A watch tower probably. Also, small chance of it being a monument.Underbrush
Cool, fallen palm leaves. Maybe cut down. Very nice, although it probably will not be a seperat unit.Part 02I'm glad people like this so much! I have added cropings from the screens Thunder brought back, as well as some of the very first screens. If the image is blurry, this doesn't relate to AoM graphics, simply camara problems.
