I have recently started playing gaia and found map control is her strongest ability. I'm amazed how strong she is with all gold mines under her control. I guess map control is good no matter what, but for Gaia it is very easy to take control. She goes from UP(in some peoples eyes) to OP if you you use her map control right. Eggies suffer very bad from this. They just seal there own death even sooner :P.I think I made the right choice switching to Gaia. She feels alot more like my style. I guess not much of a discussion but just a little note.

Question... In the recorded game I posted, I had blocked in the Isis player early with rushes, forcing him to wall in. I then towered up and protected all the outside goldmines, restricting him to the one goldmine inside his base. Now, I wanted to drain away at his economy, so I kept sending little attacks on his walls (Which he would quickly repair) my idea was that the endless wall repairs would drain his economy... Would it? Or is the cost to insignificant

The drain would be very small. If an opponent walls themself in I would suggest getting another tc and booming from it, while keeping a small military force (as much as can be afforded without stopping vil production from any tcs) to scout around their base and make sure they don't leave the confines of their walls. This is slightly different on vanilla where you need to reach heroic to build tcs, but I expect it will still work. As long as they are restricted within their walls your economy will be able to get far enough ahead for you to win.

I honestly think who ever gets early map control wins the game. You have so many more resources and strategies you can use with 80% map control. I played a game last night in which I attempted to take a middle town center. I lost it (he happenedto have his Ajax wondring around when he found the TC being built) I ended up losing the game because he had 60% map. eventually I would be out of gold-and luck.
