Someone said that if you can pull off making a wonder, you would have won anyway. But I have had a game where that was definitely not the case. I was playing on Oasis as Poseidon, I had a large clump of villagers who had escaped as the town was trashed behind them, and all the huntables on the map were gone. I had very little food from massing hoplites to counter a cavalry-centred army, but however I still lost (the battle) because my opponent had claimed 5 TCs. Figuring I had no other chance, I built a wonder and a lot of towers because I still had loads of wood and gold... But it was pointless to make archers because my opponent had a camelry and war-elephant based army. So I just built towers, walls, and a Wonder. I got to a point where the wonder was reduced to 431 health while being attacked by a War Elephant. However, the towers started attacking it and it headed for the towers. That was with 30 seconds left, so I won. I definitely would have been slaughtered had I built toxotes or farms.
I'm on a a mac, I don't have titans, I'm new to age of mythology but not all RTS.
