hi, i've been a lurker for some time now and finally decided to join today. i'm a completed n00b at this game and started just a few months ago, but i'm completely hooked

i suck big time though and am working to improve my game. i'm concentrating on Poseidon ATM at least till i can get to be a little competent, but i'm a slow learner and the process isn't as fast as i would like

still a lot of fun though and hopefully soon i'll be asking for games so you guys have another ass to kick around

Hey all... I've joined after reading some threads here and finding them mildly interesting...

I'm an average player on Vanilla (1650) and I can't seem to find Titans anywhere so I can get into playing AoT.

I play on the ESO under the name FailedEagle (I know, hard to tell), and have developed a minor reputation player other similar games (StarCraft, anyone?). I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Hello Guesa,

I am afraid we wont be able to give you a new cd key because we don't support he on-line server for this game. You can try to get in touch with Microsoft, they might be able to help you.

As you said there is NO cd key to connect on multiplayer, because we don't provide one. When Ubisoft Bought the right to republish the game, microsoft refused to give us the rights for the server, so Ubisoft customers cannot play on line with it.

With all my respect,i didnt say that i dont have a cd-key,but i say that my cd-keys r not valid in order to play online,and there is nowhere on the case o word about online issue.More than that u say on the back case that the game has online multiplay (i put a picture)

G'day al! I'm playing rts games for a long time. I've even grown up with aoe1.
aom is my favorite game though. I'm surprised to see a healthy fanbase for such old game. I recently got into designing small scenarios, thanks to the guides on this site.

after 4 months of being here i have just discovered this topic :P
I have been here about the same time as tasterix (but im less popular) so this is kinda late

I am a scenario designer ewith an odd skill: I cannot learn from what people tell me or by using help guides, i learn triggers through copying others into my triggers (basically i remember them and remake it for my scenarios) Everything i have learnt is from the following scenarios:
Sims (very handy for learning modify triggers and shop triggers)
Bloodsport (the teleport stuff, my clan stands for BloodSport Ultimate )
Pit of doom (sorry nottud :P this is where i learnt to use area triggers and cinematics)

and then others i have picked up along the way by accident without these maps i wouldnt have any of the skills i have so thatnks to their creators! without realising it they created a scenario designer in the middle of england :P

I'm very into AoM, but I'm not a pro at all. (yet)

I'm dead in like 35 minutes against a CPU level hard if I'm doing well. (I'm progressing though)
I probably won't post very much, but I guess the information here will be helpful to become a winner instead of a loser. (sometimes I try to play against my brother or a friend of his and that always turns out to be a total disaster for me.)

I never make enough villagers, Odin and Zeus are my favourites and I'm determined to improve my AoM skills.

favourite god: zeus cos he's cool

favourite myth unit: Cyclops because it's the most powerful myth unit and probably the most useful because of his brilliant throwing attack

I like to edit maps like highland and add things to them but if I play an edited map with a computer opponent it doesn't ever build ships because it's really dumb.....

I loved AOM as a kid, but now that i'm older I ca truley appreciate the masterpiece that it is.

I prefer to play Hades or Set. My favorite Myth unit is the colossus.

Quick question, I want to make a multiplayer map, how do I set up the game to do so? Do I need a trigger?

Really a Collosus? I perfer to have Cyclopses over Collosi. For 2 reasons: 1 They are great at demolishing buildings(I know Collosi are too but they are only good at destroying buildings). 2 Thier pick-up attack. But If I'm looking to destroy a city and I have to choose between a Collosus army and a Cyclops army I'm going with the Collosus. P.S I'm also a Hades fan, I love the evil god.

dunno about the vista, sorry

micro is when you control your units during battle so that
they attack the units they counter, draw enemy fire, dont die etc.
it can also be used as a term to describe handling your economy, such as running a villager around while a rhino/elephant chases it and the other vills can shoot it.

op is an acronym for overpowered

up.... im guessing you mean 'up at 5 mins'.
that is just a simple way to say 'advance'

Vista, easy solution: if your admin (which you are) then you need to launch the program by right clicking and run as admin, i had that problem till i fiddled around and figured out how to fix it

Yes, I'm a girl...but who cares? I like killing (virtual) people and I'm a mythology nerd, so AoM apeals to me.

I like water myth units (Nerieds and Elvers mainly), healing units (Valkyries and Caladrias; why continually pay for new units?), ranged unties (Manticores and any archers), and SEIGE UNITS!!!

I'm a cheapskate so I mainly play on water based maps (like Midgard and Islands) so that I can trin seige ships and "seage" the enemey's Wonders and T-Gates before they're fully built

I've never played on-line and I don't really care to. Although I've been playing a long time and completed both campaigns twice, I still can't get very far on any level above "easy." *sigh*
