I generally classify a siege myth unit to be a unit which does a fair amount of crush damage or bonus vs buildings, but less effective vs other units
they are usually large and clumsy
- scarab
- behemoth
- colossus
- battle boar
etc
Do you guys find them all that useful, or is taking buildings down what siege weapons are for
is it more worthwhile to spend favor on units that are good against soldiers instead?
I find scarabs especially useful because they are less vulnerable to soldiers, destroy buildings slightly faster, and help save wood so I can make more chariots

I sometimes find behemoths real useful vs human infantry.

Scarabs and behemoths are the only true siege myth units (best used against buildings), and they can be useful.
The other units would be considered dual purpose (collosus, mountain giant...) and are generally more useful since you can use them in more ways effectively.

Behemoths, Scarabs, and Mountain Giants are your really only "siege MU". Colossi are best obviously but they actually are general purpose except for the fact that you should always use them against buildings anyway.
Scarabs are better than both Mountain Giants and Behemoths though as the only real time you would use them is in combination with Eclipse and then they simply own (whoever said they suck has no idea what they are talking about). Mountain Giants are rather vulnerable to heros, same with Behemoths really (much more than the other MU in your list) and should only be used in mass vs largely fortified areas or against a lone TC or soemthing like this. Ourk was very adept at using Mountain Giants and I would suggest you watch some of his recs to get an excellent idea how to make use of them best. Behemoths are actually a very good counter to an Eggy FH and one of the few things I am good at doing with Gaia is FH'ing myself and spamming Behemoths vs my unexpecting Eggy opponent.
Battle Boars are by far one of the best MU in the game for its price, spamming ability, and for when it comes available. Not to mention it comes with the same god that gives you FW (no small bonus in the least) and on the same god path that gives you the strongest Mythic Age godpower in the game: Ragnarok. Battle Boars are great against both units and buildings and their extremely high pierce armor makes it incredibly hard to kill for Greek's ranged hero and Eggy's priests unless incredibly massed.
Colossi are the strongest Mythic Age MU however and give Greek the ability to stay strong against Eggy and overpower Atty easily. If Norse goes Ragnarok (not some weak 2 TC rag lmao) in an otherwise even battle just around the time you start to be able to spam your Colossi they are really of no use though for obvious reasons.

They dont really kill buildings but you can use them to hit ranged buildings without being hit.

You can also use priests for that, but it's not very useful.

Generally, I tend to gravitate toward using catapults to take out towers without getting hit. Dunno about you guys though.

Hekas can become very crucial in the late games for Kronos and Oranos. I personally like to use them against egypt to take out their forward migdol camp. Most useful siege MU in the game IMO.

DEFINITELY not. They die like flies to priests and other MUs are much much stronger (Colossi taking the cake) than Hekas are. Plus, as Atty you need the favor for other stuff.

I like heka's to repel annoying units like mercenaries. It buys you a few seconds.

VS eggy it really is a waste to use your favor on hekas. You should save favor for TT and hekas really arent that great. I would not call them siege MU's
