FAVOUR
Player sets a percentage of resources being gathered to be given as tithes to the preists to earn favour. (eg. tithe=10%, a villager with 10 food would drop off 9 food and one food would vanish and the player would earn say 1/10 of a unit of favour) the player would be able to alter the percantage in game to ramp up and slow dow favour production, but if the percentage is set below a specified level eg. 10% then the player would start to LOSE favour, and if favour goes negative bad things happen. eg. GPs stop working, MUs start vanishing, units get weaker ect
CIVS
ok, the israelites were mostly monotheistic (though their were times that they went astray). so i thought instead of choosing a main deity at the beginning you would choose a major leader from israelite history. eg
MOSES=emphasis on divine intervention
KING DAVID= stronger military units
KING SOLOMAM= more technology/upgrades, better buildings
you could also divide them into some of the israelite tribes eg.
YEHUDA= military strengh
ZEVULON= Trade+Naval power
LEVI= divine stuff
GOD POWERS
heaps. ten plaguess of egypt, splitting red sea, walls of Jericho, clouds of glory, near endless possibilities here.
MYTH UNITS
Myth units are pretty hard to think of but i have one idea. Angels of different types could come down and join in combat. They would havr high attack + be immortal, however they would cost a fortune and would return to heaven withim 5-10 minutes of being summoned so they would be impossible to mass.
