Coolness factor has to go to the Norse. They seem darker to me and more war like (duh). However, I can't really say what my favorite will be to play because the gameplay and mechanics are going to be much more different than I could predict.

If history is any indication I will probably like Greeks the best because they are more blase and less popular, much like Terran were in Starcraft. But, I will play all 3 frequently.

I agree with Yamato...the Greeks have a much more stable favor gathering system. ooo gotta go everybody...Lacrosse practice time!

true, and i hope i DO get flamed, cause ill learn, really ive been only at AoK but im definetely gonna learn about AoM, and how can i be a noob if the game is not out? god ppl are getting called n00b before theres even a game to be a n00b of!! and again i like the Norse correcting myself, because of everything they seem much much cooler than any other, but based on historical background and facts id say greeks were the most technologically and socially advanced of their time, since there is no romans

I'm going to side with jdude and give a feeble cheer for the Eggies. They have a favor system that relies on shameless city-building (albiet it's not quite as good as the Greeks,) some incredible MUs (Avengers, Anubites, Mummies, etc.) and a purportedly defensive style (yay turtlers!)
In close second is definitely Greeks, just cuz they've got hoplites. (And minotaurs, and Underworld Passage...)
Norse just brings Wagnerian Opera to mind, and I can't get used to the ulfsark-building, no matter how hard I try.
In short, here's my opinions on major gods so far:
1. Ra
2. Zeus
3. Poseidon
4. Thor

Too early to tell. Out of the four showcased civs so far, Ra is my fave, but with 5 civs left to go, who knows?

And Mr. Da_Man, u never did say exactly how the Eggys suck.

Hades all the way hes gonna focus on archers and buildings

*laughs* No problem. I actually just sometimes call people Mr or Mrs. I guess it depends on my mood. But u impressed me quite a bit, when u said u wouldn't mind being flamed cuz u can learn from that stuff. Damn right, and if more people thought like that, then many of the other Age forums wouldn't be such hellholes.

I can't choose ... Norse have nice GPs & MUs, Greeks have nice MUs & heroes ... but the Egyptians fit my type of game: defensive, collosal building & mighty pharaohs. So ... Egyptian. More specific, probably Isis.

Well, just don't let that 'tude go overboard. We're a pretty crazy but well-meaning bunch (except for that uptight by-the-book moderator TSD ), and if u wanna go nuts with every bit of crazy speculation and debating that there possibly can be w/ AoM, u've come to the right place.

Norse, more specifically Thor. Because? Because look at the showcases lol… Its pretty obvious. They just fit my gaming characteristics. Rush til you or most likely your opponent drop, take a break, get a drink of water, and ask whose next…J “Militaristic building” (read the showcase who_da_man is something I find very cool. Plus mobile gathering sites rock…
