Yes, sometimes the command isn't usefull and thats when you have to do some micro with your troops (I.E. Siege Wepons for Towers and Walls) I think the move-attack command should be in AoM when players need to use it.
Here are some ideas for the move-attack script rules.
*Your units will always move to the selected destination and will only stop to attack when
A.) Enemy units in its LOS (Line of Sight)
B.) Your units are attacked.
Once the enemy units are out of LOS and no longer being attacked, your men will move towards the selected destination.
Yes I use the Patrol command as a substitute for the move-attack command. It works fairly well, except when your units come back!
Off Topic a little... In SW:GB I didn't understand why Lucas Arts couldn't make a Move-Attack Command. They could at least fake it a little by modifying the patrol command script to where your units will not come back when they reach their destination. I think that would have did the job.
