This is not sexist, just an observation. The games with the seemingly highest female playing ratio are RTS's [the Age series being very popular] and the Sims that has no real category [do not say simulator, simulators have some basis in reality, I know of no one to have ever died of hamster bite, have bright blue urine, speak such fluent gibberish, or not strangle to death any paper deliverer/child taht whistles or "sings" such an annoying tune] Does anyone know why? One theory I've read [read not my own] is that girls tend to prefer more accesable interfaces. Both the aforementioned games are simply mouse orientated [aside from hotkeys]
Any one know any other theories as to the game-gender divide, or why the gap seems to be narrowing?
[and yes I was a sims fan[but my sister is an obsessive]]

What was the point of saying that if it was very politically incorrect?
I don't think that anyone likes overly aggressive people.

I think the simple answer to the question is "Men and Women are different". There is no argueing the fact. Both physically (Duh) and mentally men and women are different. Sure some women act a lot like men and some men act a lot like women, but for the most part they are quite a bit different. Each gender has their own general abilities and disabilities. (But like in science, english, and all the other stuff their are exceptions to the rule).
To some of you this post may seem dumb, but I have met with some people who try to convince you that men and women are basically the same...
Think my name sounds wierd? Well it's in a different language! Translated from Khuzdul it means "Silver Axe".

In my perspective, it depends totally on the way you look at the situation. I don't believe that Multi-Generation Peer Pressure is a major factor. I personally believe a factor in anti-female competitiveness is society and culture.
I think that was sort of my point... As you may have noticed I'm not very good at expressing my ideas.

Forgive me if I didn't quite get what you were saying, Head Cheese.
You are forgiven. No one ever gets what I am saying. I'm not very good at communicating.

Being politically correct all the time is stupid. I think people that are overly concerned with being politically correct are annoying..

My female cousins and family are into games for the simple fact that I got them interested in them. My cousin cody is a big Final Fantasy and RTS fan.
Society is what causes the Game-Gender divide. In families with only girls they are very unlikely to be into video games because their parents probably are less likely to buy them for girls. I had a friend in High school who loved to play games, but her parents felt that it was unhealthy for her to play them. They signed her up for after school programs and classes just so she wouldn't have time to play them. Her parents make her see a psychologist on a regular basis and he planted the ideas into her parent's minds. The irony was that she had an older brother who was into games just like her, but did her parents go to such trouble to stop him from playing them? No
Society's sexism come about from nature. That is just the way we evolved. In an evolutionary sense woman that did the hunting in the stone age died out because they were less likely to pass on their genes in such a hostile environment. (Premature death, miscarrage, ect.) Natural selection favored woman that stayed at "home" and insured the survival of their offspring and passing on their genes. The same way bigger and stronger men were naturally selected because they were better able to hunt food and take care of their families. If feminists want to blame something they can blame evolution, because that is the root of human sexism. For the same reasons I don't think woman should go to war. I'm not saying we shouldn't treat them fairly, we should. I'm just saying that men and woman ARE different and have different strengths and weaknesses.
