Quoted from StorM_Prodigy:
For lack of better grammar this game SUCKS.
At first I was like wow this game might be okay. Well the last couple of nights of gaming has definately proved me wrong. The game is based around expansion more than fighting each other, this is turning into a Warcraft 3 type game. The pop limit is extremely low and it is very hard to actually kill someone. When you have the advantage in the map you really dont have the advantage. All the defensive tools they put into the game (ie 4 start towers, shooting tcs with big range) make it very hard to kill someone. A very clear example of this is a game I and younggunz shared tonight. I will upload this to example to the community. I am really dissappointed in ES. I think its time to go back to the fun in aoe\ror and dont worry about how long games are or rushing. It's time we start making games fun instead of making them fun for newbies, because this really ****es off those of us who are trying to enjoy todays rts's. I am tired of waiting for good rts games... (EE and AoM). I think its time someone step to the plate and make something we all love. I think a prime example of this was starcraft.. they have no shooting buildings those great gameplay and good balance. Why don't ES take a good look at one of the best all time RTS games. I am really saddened by the boring play in AoM. Please if u have a negative comment keep it to your self, I think i have established myself as a very decent player with a pretty ingenius mind so please do not comment or tell me I do not know what I am talking about. Also this epiphany did not come after a loss, yet a win so I am not dissappointed or angry because I have lost games.
Quoted from Kosh3:
There are two things which seem absolutely necessary to me in order to play AOM
1) forward barracks/stables/range - otherwise by the time you have won a battle and walked across the map to the enemies base he has a completely new army which beats yours. wash rinse repeat, if you dont produce your units right outside his base, he just comes back.
2) seige, what with towers (and pretty effective ones at that), and shooting Tc's, and this compiled with the fact that he is pumping units at an inordanate rate from 5 or 6 buildings right where he is, if you dont have seige you are asking to loose your army
seems pretty... one dimenional. am I alone on this?
Thoughts? I really am sad to say that I totally experience what Kosh is talking about, as well as seeing it on many top rated replays exactly what he is talking about? And it seems find fault with Storm Prodigy's competence at the game as a little background checking reveals he is who he says he is -- and a quite good player in both aoe and ror...
