Taking that information along with the fact that Turmas are terrible at destroying buildings and walls I thought about building a little pen for the turmas to be transported into so they can't go anywhere and then die to tower/TC fire.
It doesn't take a large pen. I flank a tower with 2 houses in a row on each side like this:

Then you build walls inward like a slice of pie. It takes about 40 gold and a little time, but not much. In the editor I can always transport 10 Turmas of a 8 Turma/4 Hero army and they always fit inside the pen. They all die before they can destroy the tower or wall.
This may be a good way for Ra to survive until he can FH against Atlantis. 10 Turmas cost 500 Wood and 400 Gold. You have to build the houses anyway and the towers are free. Your only expenditure is about 40 gold in walls and the time for a villie to build them. It also costs a GP, but it is a very offensive way to use it. Ra isn't going to kill many units with GPs in other ways.
I'm anxious to try it out as I've been wanting to switch back to Ra but have been concerned about Turma raiding.
As an aside, it isn't nearly as important to house your towers in like we all do against atlantis. They always come with turmas which a) are bad at killing towers and b) are ranged anyway so they are always in tower range. You do have to watch for Prometheans, but you should have priests and pharaoh's to take care of them. I'd rather use your houses these days as "walls" to block choke points.
