roby11, for your second question, I'll just go through the general process of a cinematic. For the example, it'll be for a cinematic that starts right at the beginning of a scenario.
Trigger 1
Active
Run Immediately
highest priority
Condition(s):
Always
Effect(s):
Cinematic Mode: ON
Fade to Color: Duration = 0, Delay = 0, ON
Set Obscured Units: OFF
Fire Event: Trigger 2Trigger 2
NOT Active (un-X box)
your choice of priority
Condition(s):
Timer: X (I usually just put 1)
Effect(s):
Fade to Color: Duration = 5000, Delay = X (I usually just put 1000), OFF
Render Fog/Blackmap: Blackmap = OFF, Fog of War = OFF
I usually put the FOW/Backmap effect here, in the first shot, rather than the starting trigger because some times, if it's set in the first trigger, the player might momentarly see the map flash on the screen before it fades to black. It just take away from the cinematic a bit, so I put it in this trigger to be safe.
Camera Cut OR Camera Track...
Here, to make the cinematic "move", you need to put in a cut or a track. A cut is simply positioning the camera to where you want with the right angle and what not and hitting the SET CUT button. A track is a little more complicated. Go into the Camera Editor, and insert a track. Set a name and a play length. Then, to the right of the screen, add "waypoints" to the track. These are points of camera positions within the track. After you have a few waypoints (two is fine), double-click the first one, move the camera to the position you want, and hit the Update button. Then double-click the second waypoint, get the camera to another position, and update it. If you did it right, the camera will move from the first waypoint's camera position to the second position. It'll take some getting use to. Once you've finished the track, set it in the Camera Track effect.
Fire Event: Trigger 3Trigger 3
NOT Active
your choice of priority
Here, you might want to leave the priority at standard, or even below normal, if you used a Camera Track. Complicated tracks might take slightly longer than the play time you set, so it could override a Camera Cut in the next trigger if set to a higher priority.
Condition(s):
Timer: X (The length of the previous Camera Track, if you used one, or whatever you want if it was a Camera Cut)
Effect(s):
Camera Cut OR Camera Track
Fire Event: Trigger 4Just continue this process until you get to the end of the cinematic. You can also add whatever other effects you want to these triggers, like Play Dialog or what have you. Then make sure to turn cinematic mode off, reset the FOW and blackmap, and all the rest. Okay?Let me know if you need anything clarified.
