Tifflrol's Journey

DOWNLOAD HERE

Anyways, this is about a Norse Hersir named Tifflrol (don't laugh lol ) who's village got invaded by Circe. He and his small army fight but get taken as prisoners. Circe uses them for practice with her magic, turning them into various creatures.

Circe accidentally turns Tifflrol into a super Promethean (she doesn't know it). Tifflrol doesn't know this, escapes and sails home. His former allies chase him to the top of mountain and he lives there for a while, protected by a storm that surrounds the mountain.

Eventually, he gets a dream that a special pond on an unknown island will cure him. . .

Suggestions and constructive critisism are welcome. Please don't make posts such as "That pic doesn't look that good" as I wouldn't have any idea what you are refering to.

Scenarios: I plan to have him fight his way through Norse, Egypt, Greek, and Atlantis. Probably 3-5 scenarios per culture.

The below is finished:
Prologue
1) Out of the Mountains
2) Finding Help

If you wish to playtest, please email me at pftq@sbcglobal.net Thanks

I only try to help you, dude. And you can't counter some important disadvantages of Abort Cin.

Besides, didn't you recognize my praises ?

BTW, not sure if you can notice in the second shot, but I've included salespeople in the markets. Wish they had animations to make them look like they're talking or selling.

Did you know that thr troll have a cool "bored" animation that make them look like they're "stealing" if you place them in front of a store?

I can give you a screenie from one of my pratice scenarios I made a long time ago.

Hmm, interesting lol. I could try that for a different scen.

BTW, AOMPlayer, I wasn't offended.

For some reason, one of my camera tracks has started lagging badly. I thought it might have been one of those times my PC was working really slow, but it's been like this constantly. Edit: Okay, it turns out sometimes my computer is faster and sometimes slow. I want to make sure people with slow PCs can play it too though . . .

That's nice. BTW, I tried the thing with the troll, and it really looks cool. You have to enlarge the troll a bit though.

Wow, 5 days and it's on the third page . . .

Anyways, I've updated all the scenarios to include portraits of the characters when there's dialogue. Should be a nice add.

Here's a final screen off the second level. Third level's been a blast (mostly been working on triggers). It's one of the scen I've been waiting to make. This one will include bizarre gameplay. Tifflrol will fall into a madman's deadly trap, boulders will fly at you, exploding fireballs will be thrown . . . I won't give any screens until I worked on the terrain and stuff more.

If you don't like spoilers, don't click. It's a pic of the destroyed military.

Suggestions welcome. I'm not to sure what to put on the black areas of the ground so . . .

Hey AOMPlayer, I was wondering if you could maybe test a few of my scen and give me a few tips. I'm okay with triggers but not sure about map designing (moving onto Egypt a bit). Thanks.

Grmbl... I hate playtesting... I already refused to test Vandhaal's excellent campaign because it takes so much time. But well, send me one or two scenarios and I'll see what I can do. Don't expect a huge review/playtesting report though, maybe I won't even do it, but let me see.

No, no, I'm a slow worker so you don't have to worry about too much work - maybe just one scen a month. I actually just want you to lemme know how good the lvl 2 is. Don't worry. Just play it as you would and tell me what you think. Like what could have been better or maybe it was too flat. I don't need a fully detailed three page report lol.

I'll send you links to the levels and you can decide if you want to download all of them.

I only have a total of:

Prologue (rough draft - will be redone. Just maybe watch to understand story)

Lvl1 - Rough Draft. Just a taste of how it will be redone. Maybe play to go with the story.

Lvl2 - This is really what I want feed back on. It's pretty much final.

Thanks. I'll send you them sometime later when I can.

Sorry, I've a (really) nasty computer problem atm, I'll explain it in the answer to your eMail. I'll try to help you though!

EDIT: I seem to have it fixed (for now)...

A steep drop.

I've decided to work on the new Level 1.

- Better starting cinematic
- Seemingly larger map
- Relics available
- . . .

I hope to make it more exciting. I'll get pics of the starting cinematic when I finish it more.

Tip: In this pic, you want to keep from the edge. Yes you can fall off.

Screen3 & 4 of the prologue didn't work for me.

Single Player Scenario: 12 Labours of Heracles (Would really appreciate a review here)
RMS: Mount Olympus - Rated 5.0
RMS: Aviation
RMS: Virtual Reality

Fixed them. Thanks for letting me know.

A hidden cave

So far the first level is going great - slow but great. It's going far better than I expected.

As shown above, there is a hidden cave somewhere.

What I want to know is if it seems too dark. I added an object called shadow since it is a cave, but IMO, it seems to make everything in the cave low details.

Please post if you think it's too dark or okay.

Don't pay attention to any of the land outside the cave - it isn't finished.

I'm working on both the new Prologue and new First Level at the same time.

Here are new screens from both:

Prologue: Circe's army approaches...

Level 1: The Cure to Tifflrol's Curse

Suggestions to screens or storyline welcome.

I managed to get a bunch done in the past few days. Five new screens from the New Prologue!

Circe's Army's First Target

Circe's Army Breaking Through the Wall of the First Victim

Tifflrol's Attempt To Rescue Them is Hopeless

What Happens When You're Reinforcements Don't Come.

Circe Has Something Planned for the Prisoners That's Much Worse Than Death

BTW, would it be a better idea if I recorded the Prologue as a movie file and uploaded it, or is that illegal? :-/

The project definitely will be great if he continues like that. Believe me, I was allowed to play his 'adviser' (rather playtester ).

Pftq, you should delete the old screenshots from the thread IMO. And is the downloadable prologue the topical one?

Yep...seen it ...and Liked it !!

Thanks for the comments.

@Aomplayer: If you mean the links to the prologue - they're all to the latest ones.

I'll remove the old screenshots then.

Yay . I'm finally a Playtester! Which map do I get to test/when do I get to test?

Thanks,
Serpent_Master

BTW: If your going to put Playtesters in the Credits, make me Serpent_Vikar, not Serpent_Master. Thanks again!
