THE LOST LEGION

"One moment, they stood under the skies of Gaul, facing each other in a strange duel of survival. In the hand of the Roman tribune Marcus Scarus was the spell-scribed sword of a Druid priest. The Celtic chieftain Viridovix held a similar sword, bespelled by a rival Druid sorcerer. Then, as the two swords touched, a dome of golden light flared out and surrounded Marcus, Viridovix, and three cohorts of Caesar's legions. The next moment, they found themselves under a strange night sky where no stars were familiar and where Gaul and Rome were unknown. They were in an outpost of the embattled Empire of Videssos - in a world where magic and dark sorcery would test their skill and courage as no Roman legion had ever been tested before."

No, instead it will be map that needed the greatest quantity of time to be completed (I started it in June and I'm still working on it!)

Sorry, bad news this time...
map design, trigger and cinematics, sound track and file reduction are accomplished BUT there is a stupid error among the triggers that, every time I test the map, when I'm getting near the end, don't allow me to go ahead testing and to complete the scenario.
So where is the problem? Is sufficient to find the responsible trigger and to correct it.
Unfortunately it is not so simple.
why?
-there are 1220 triggers
-the error could be at the begining of the map and not near the point where the game stops so most of the triggers must be checked one by one (sincerely I don't know the precise number of conditions and effects to check)
-my time is very limitated

So in these days I'm here in front of my pc going on again and again and again testing the map like an idiot.
I hope to find as soon as possible the damned bug but inevitably the release wil be postponed.

Major Help (maybe): I've discovered that two send chats in the same trigger seem to cause problems for the game. If you have that, it could be your problem.

Oscar, I once made a thread on how to catch those annoying 'kill all triggers' bugs- you should check it out.

Triggers Stop Working Guide.

BTW, if you want I can playtest your scn, maybe find the problem- just add me on MSN (scooter_logical@hotmail.com).

Please tell me when you've added me, I don't want to keep my email out here for potential hackers lol.

Thanks Guardian (Gaurdian!?!?!) and gummyWorm but the error is not a "'kill all triggers' bug".
A little (but not clear ) explanation: near the end of the map there is a mission structured like the game "commandos" in which you lose if you enter in the enemy sentinels'LOS. After the cinematic that introduces the task to accomplish, despite my units are not in the sentinels'LOS, I lose the game. Evidently there is an old cinematic block turned into a revealer or a enemy object with a great LOS that see my units that I forgot from some previous mission. So I have to find the responsable cinematick block or the modify protounit effect that gives to enemy unit a huge LOS and correct it. Considering the great amount of objects and triggers is not a simple quest.

In any case to solve this problem a little time ago few seconds before the game stops I opened the menu and I click on "editor". Then I clicked on "render fog" and the I selected the enemy player to see its LOS and I notice these strange things:

In those "gaps" there are no objects but there is the enemy LOS and I really don't realize the reason of their presence...

Hmmm, damn, well I can't really help much unless I can see the map itself- I personally never use cinematic blocks, never found a good use for them. Probably why all my cinematics suck

Hi to all, after this very busy week I'm finally back.
Now the Italian version is finished and if someone have a good knoledge of Italian language can contact me to playtest the map (but first he have to prove his knoledege with al little test , I'm not jocking )
A copy of the map has been just sent to OttyGiummy (Grande4's friend) for English traslation. I want to thank Anastasoulis and slickman_g for their helpfulness showed in the other topic but I've preffered Ottyiummy that is going to traslate the scenario directly in a good English (I hope) because of my small amount of free time.

Well, sincerely I'm a little behind and this delay has been caused by the very strict Italian playtesters that have found many and many defects to correct (they will never test one of my maps ). And unfortunately, after a very animated discussion, we have established that some faults can't be corrected. For example the file size: now the map is 2245 kb and a normal pc take a long time to load a savegame or to open the map with the editor. But considering that before Cheezy tell me how to reduce the file dimension, the scenario was 2675 kb. So I've earned 430 kb and, considering that 1 kb=5 objects, I've deleted about 2150 objects. The map has became a little uglier of course but surely more people will be able to play it. Other problems are about the running of the cinematics that depends by the pc "performances" but in any case maybe is better to not dwell too much and to stop here.
