Howdy!
Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs? Your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now, to mock your own grinning?

He Salska,
Nice to see a fellow swbg designer here!! How come you moved to Aom?
If you have any questions you can check Aomplayers sig LoL or post them in the have a question thread. Also there are a lot of guides etc etc in these forums (can be found by search function). You also should check the design guides. For more info you can also visit Tuniversity the university of Tsunami studies. There also are some good Aom guides in the archives.
Single/multiplayer As I started with my current project I wanted to make a simmilar set up as I had done with my swbg projects..Use one big storyline and create single and multiplayer games within it......however after playing on Eso I skipped this idea......I am not sure if it is only me but out of 15 (rm) games 14 go out of sync , add the fact that most commenly I see crappy scenrios and NOT the quality ones played on Eso I figured out Its just as worse as the zone maybe worser.
Ok well see you around here or on msn. Best regards, The Vandhaal

Well, since the designers have said everything there is to say, I can only say: Hi! Join the club.
Didnt know you were online Van you wernt on msn lol. Iv had Aom for some time but I didnt decide to check out the scenario editor until recently. When I saw that it was a lot like the swgb one (In a way) I decided to mess around with it. So far the only things Im having trouble with is- Centematics-Dont know all about them yet but I'll read some articles or somthing lol.
And before I forget I wanted to ask about these- Is there an Invisable Target you can place? Is there an Undefeatable Object you can place? And what do those little blue and red things do in the scenario editor. I think they start and end centimatics right?

welcome to the AoM community!
i think there are several guides about what you are asking right now on the library. You can check my sig for some guides/utilities i made
anywayz, there are invisible targets. Those are called cinematic blocks.
a red-blue cine block is mostly used for effects.
a yellow-green cine block is used to for objects/units, since this block defines a front and back unlike the other block.
Welcome! Don't forget to check our Scenario Design Library, tons of articles and resources for you to use
I'd suggested you downloaded some maps on our downloads section, to get ideas flowing and all.
I hope to see one of your maps released soon, gl!

Hello Salska,
LoL yes I was online for a short moment when I aw your post .

I decided to mess around with it
Same with me...I liked the cinematics feature most so thats what triggered me to mess around with the editor. Still the Star wars theme will always keep my interest. I 'm not so much designing swbg stuff however I play it alot together with my gf on our network.
To your questions: Auron has already told what those blue/red and green/yellow blocks are. (cinematic blocks)
As they do not appear in the game you can use them for a lot of stuff: as invisible target like in swbg but also to create stuff from it (you can change them into units, sfx etc etc.)
Cinematics are made just as the rest of the trigger work. basicly you fire a trigger effect cinematic mode on and you end it with a trigger effect cinematic mode off in between you throw in some camera tracks which are also fired by triggers and all action is also controled by triggerwork. There are some good guides about it but its also easy to figure out if you just mess around with it.
yes basicly the editor is simmilar to swbg (conditions and effects) but there are some differences and also a nice feture in Aom you can overlap stuff which was not possible in swbg.
Well enjoy the messing around Best regards, The Vandhaal

Hello again and thank you for more warm welcomes.
villi-I guess its a coincident that we have the same names because I'v been known by this name on zone.com for a while now, And I used it when I joined Swgbh .
Vandhall-Yea I need to read some guides on camera tracks and stuff. I really liked Battlestars guide on Rpgs I thought it was great. You can overlap some stuff in swgb..but it has to be map copied and it cant be done as good as in Aom lol.

Hey Salska, welcome.
I've just uploaded a -what I called- compedium of many articles and Q&A about cinematics. In there you'll find in one download -almost- all that was written about cinematics and answers to all your questions on that subject.
may the force be with you

"ever" is kind of absolute. I mean, if NOBODY was supposed to top old threads, why is it possible to reply to them at all? It seems reasonably to be able to reply to old threads if you have a valid question about the topic.
