The time has come. At long last the greatest fantasy saga ever created has made it's arrival on the Age of Mythology engine. We, the modders and mappers of Liquid Fire Studios are proud to present the highly anticipated first part of Lord of the Rings: Legends of the Third Age, The Fellowship of the Ring.

In this long-awaited campaign, the player follows the adventures of the nine members of the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the One Ring. The scenarios are made to the highest quality by some of the best designers in the community, and will lead the player from the sweeping rural hills of the Shire to the deepest depths of Moria to the wooded ruins of Amon Hen. Complex map design and amazing eye candy will keep gamers coming back simply to watch the brilliantly created cinematics. Even more fantastic is the completely original soundtrack created by a true genius at his craft. From Rivendel to Mordor, Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring brings Middle-Earth alive like never before.

Aside from the excellent scenarios, The Fellowship of the Ring boasts what may be the largest and most expansive modpack in Age of Mythology history. Each weapon is authentic, and gamers will feel the fires of the Balrog and hear the crack of Gimli's axe. Each face of each hero is authentic and detailed, as is every structure in the many exotic Middle-Earth locales. The mods were made by legends in the Age of Mythology community, and the quality does show.

I must agree, the campaign was virtually bugless - save for some of the units not regenerating, which isn't much of a problem anyways.

And so long as the game is on the shelves, the community will survive, and who knows - the expansion to AoE3 may not be as good as it sounds, especially when considering how disappointing AoE3 was, atleast in my opinion.

@jonathan: I feel flattered by your kind words. The biggest bugs appeared when I tested a scen, changed a little something and didn't test again (after all, I've probably tested every FotR scen at least 4 times). But! The patch will fix all your problems and add new Uruk-Hai units, among others.

    The unit selection and tasking sounds are sometimes too long - one word would be enough. And Frodo says "I will take the ring to mordor" again and again even while at the time he doesn't know anything of this ring yet

    Rider, I'm serious. Tell us these things beforehand. As in... as soon as you decide the changes are made. I don't want another let's-rename-aomxmod.exe problem again. That was just silly.

    @Arch: Yeah, Frodo's little sound is annoying. I'll tell GoI to maybe add a few more. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to deactivate specific sounds with triggers, so, unless we make a duplicate of Frodo, I don't think the ring thing can be fixed.

    The truth is, it's hard to find enough sounds that are good enough to add in as sounds for the units.

    This is so useful! I can mod and still play online now! Thanks! Whoohoo! Modify god powers, units, etc and I get no sync errors online. Also, great campain! Just no animations!

    grrrr....

    look, how am I suppost to play this damn campaign? I could stand the missing units and stuff in the first cinematic, but why is the rest of it so messed up? I can't believe that I loose as soon as the cinematic ends in the third scenario?!?!?

    this looks, and from what Ive seen while trying to play, aweseom, but IT DOESN'T WORK!!!

    Yes, I made a critical mistake: there's the Hobbit that gives your units 3.00 extra speed and then you gain 1.00 extra speed at the Nazgl chase. I just forgot not everyone gains that extra speed from the Hobbit. That made the chase impossible, as the Nazgl went way too fast. But it's changed now.

    I've changed the stamina-in-maze bug too.

    I didn't mean it was hard, I ment that It didn't work, maybe I installed it wrong?

    Believe me its just not working, its ugly and can't be played, for instance the first scenario just goes straight to the end cinematic, as well as the fact fog of war is one so I can't watch it

    and the second scenario just says "you have lost", as soon as I start it!

    Well, uh, that's NOT the only change in the patch. And the patch is only going to be around 15 megs. But if you wanna know how I did it:

    *The trigger that gives you 1.00 extra Speed fires toward the following:

    Trigger_X (not the actual name):

    Condition:
    [X] NOT
    [ ] OR

    - Is Dead: The Wood pile you have to find for the Hobbit. (In order to gain the extra speed from the Hobbit, the Wood has to be destroyed, so this trigger can only work if the Wood is NOT dead.)

    Effect:

    - Modify Protounit: Player 1/Protoname: Frodo/Field: Speed/Delta: 3.00
    - Modify Protounit: Player 1/Protoname: Merry/Field: Speed/Delta: 3.00
    - Modify Protounit: Player 1/Protoname: Pippin/Field: Speed/Delta: 3.00
    - Modify Protounit: Player 1/Protoname: Sam/Field: Speed/Delta: 3.00
