Idea Voting Thread, Part 2
The voting process we used this past week wasn't quite as decisive as I'd have liked. So, with the votes as close as they are, I think it's best that we discover which of the top three ideas is the most popular.
First, to quote the rules from the last vote:
Quote:
Rather than one vote, each of you will recieve three votes. Each of these votes will bear more weight than the last, and will be applied to your favorite, 2nd favorite, and 3rd favorite ideas. Here is an example:
• Idea #1 - *
• Idea #2 -
• Idea #3 - **
• Idea #4 -
• Idea #5 - ***
In this case, Idea #5 would be this voter's favorite idea, Idea #3 their 2nd favorite, and Idea #1 their 3rd favorite. In the end, the idea with the most votes (ie. *s) will win. The method behind the madness is to eliminate some of the ambiguity that a single vote each might create. Understood? Remember:
*** = most favorite
** = 2nd favorite
* = 3rd favorite
Same idea this time, but less ideas to choose from. Based on the results from the first vote, For the last one, it was kind of a toss-up between Pretty Town and Custom Background, but I made an executive decision and chose PT with its 13 votes over CB with its 11 votes. See, despite the latter being more "popular" (26 points to 23), it was too simple, in my opinion, in addition to having less votes. So that's my reasoning on that point, should anyone ask. Moving on, please use the following template when submitting your votes, for simplicity sake. From Archaeopterix - A Rube Goldberg scenario would be a scenario with an objective like "return the lost cow" - something very simple - and that cow is probably like a 100 metres away from your starting position. However, then all kinds of events happen - the gods teleport you, the cow runs away, a wall appears in front of you (things like that) - that make the task extremely difficult and eventually lead you via every corner of the map. Once we have the final result, the staff will come up with a basic contest framework and then present it to the community for discussion. Once all the details have been worked out, we can finally proceed -- hopefully within the next two weeks or so. All clear? Good. Polls will close next Friday, 12:00 a.m. CST or so. Aaaand.... go.
