*bump*
Should've hyped these long ago eh? Here's the announcment thread for one of these scenarios anyways (The Talisman of Troy):
THE TALISMAN OF TROY Prologue:Once, long ago, a mighty king of kings embarked on a large enterprise to bring down the only obstacle in his quest for glory- the impregnable city of Troy.
After a grueling siege that was to last for ten, long years, Agammemnon, the king of kings, finally subdued and burned the city to the ground.
The night Troy fell, the gods came to Agammemnon and told him of his fading glory- a glory that would soon come to an end.
Agammemnon, determined to punish Troy forever for wasting away ten years of his life, ordered the execution of all the sons of Troy.
A young woman, seeking to save her son and the last lineage of mighty Troy, sets him out to sea, to a land which will soon be known as Italia...
Story:The Talisman of Troy follows the life of young Aeneas- twenty years after the fall of Troy. When a group of cultists- still loyal to the long dead Agammemnon- learn that a son of Troy still lives, they set out on a quest to fulfill Agammemnon's last orders.Young Aeneas, oblivious of his past, finds himself thrust into a world of politics and revenge he would never have imagined- and with him he carries the last vestige of a mighty city- the Talisman of Troy.
Features:- RPS(Role Playing Strategy)and RPG Gameplay in the style of the old AoK scenarios.
- 512 X 512 map filled with magical forests, hundreds of surprises and beautiful cities.
- A gripping, plot-twisting, thrilling story, along with an emphasis on story and its development.
Author's Note:The story is completely of my own making. The fact that certain characters, such as Aeneas, are in the story is actually coincidencial. For those who know who don't know who Aeneas is, he is the founder of Rome.
I did, however, take the title from a book by Valerio Massimo Manfredi- The Talisman of Troy. I didn't read the book yet, though- so the story is really completely of my own making.
I know references to Troy can be a little frustrating to many people, and may be a reason not to download this scenario- I would like to assure everyone that this scenario is NOT revolved around the Siege of Troy. I think good ol' Ensemble Studios did a fine job on portraying that scene and there's no need to do it all over again.
I'm having a little trouble hosting screenshots- no good file image host. That little logo on top was the best I could do for now.
Expect this to be released in the next few days- and hopefully I can get a good batch of reviews from a mixed variety- from the newbies to the oldies.I wanted to add certain new features like, for example, jumping- but I decided against it. For several reasons. Testing new features on this scenario would make it too buggy. And, in any case, I do find the scenarios of old in the good old AoK style do tend to entice more followers.
Still, in my next scenario (which I've been working on for several months), which is as of yet unnamed, I have included practically every new thing I could think of- from stamina, to choosing your own race, gender and weapon and even your own name, to a food meter and even a stealth meter.
Any comments?
