Yesterday I was playing Age of Mythology LAN (not exp) with my friend. When I saw those (nice!) menu backgrounds on the lighthouse and the North harbour, which in the EP has been replaced by that ugly tundra landscape, I suddenly got inspiration to create my own backgrounds.
I had, somewhere in mind, a thread with that kind of information... So I searched in the forum and found the information I needed. I realized rather fast that this kind of scenario designing was fun. I have created four different backgrounds, however, one is too ugly to reveal. :P
Now I have created four menus of different landscapes.

I like the forest and arctic ones. Maybe you could try a mine or egyptian temple?
Good job

Nice.
You can have up to 10 main menu files that the game chooses at random for the main menu.

Only 10? Whats that good for?
Programming it for unlimited options wouldn't be much more difficult.

There are only 10 menu fonfig thingies. I have tried more than 10 and it doesn't work. One way pahaps is to have 1 scen ario that commands the game to instantly load another scenario at random.

Baske: Hehe In Swedish geniet means "the genious... And therefore, I hate my nickname here! >.
Yeebaagooon: Thanks! Yes they are my favourite ones too... The snow landscape is kind of normal.
I wanted a desert theme... An Egyptian temple is a good idea, however, designing one will take time.
nottud: Thanks! Yes I read that in the guide, but I don't think I'll create more than ten different themes.
When I upload these, should I just pick "Single player scenarios"?

You've inspired me (although Ive been thinking for a while).
Ill make a main menu where when you click a button it goes to a different area, say the arctic and then has random events like the Titanic crashing into it randomly with music and lag making it sink (not sync) in slow motion .

I've been interested in making these for some time now. Genient, could you by any chance post a link to that thread that you mentioned that showed you how to make them? Please.

There is a complex and easy way - I did a while back thought I would make it so people can easily set their own main menu backgrounds. Simply download my latest superpack and then save your scenario as one of the filenames in the dropdown menu whidch you can then load onto the menu.
They will stay there till you quit the gane.
The oither way is to edit some configuration files.

invent00r: Lol! ^^ Unfortunately I don't know any good way of creating a raft.
I Love Bananas: *evil eyes*
Yeebaagooon: Huh? Is there any conditions which make triggers fire when for example "Random map" is selected?
The effect "gadget visible" can be used to see if a button has been clicked (indirectly).
And the raft is actually included in the monkey unit .

I love the titanic idea, Yeebaagooon. What if you made 1 giant scenario that was split into the different terrains you have set up, then you could use camera cuts to flip to a different look randomly. And I believe you will find the monkey in the raft under OTHER OBJECTS / Gaia...
This is inspiring, I might have to join in..

Thats what I did . But you choose a movie by pressing a menu button.
However I efar this will be dangerous to release because when I first saw the Titanic I almost died laughing...
Screenie may follow.

VERY nice!!
As for the hovering thing, only a few objects can be raised and lowered with the raise and lower tool however close on the ground, at least that's what I did in my Wreck Diving screenie, is just tilt a unit 90 degrees.

Does anyone know a way to make things hover?

haha, Yee, you remind me of this, the guy who discovered lag!
3)slow motion? i disvorved this thing that when you add loads a units in one place it slows down making a cool slow down effect, so i'll use that!
oh you can wait for what I can give you know what I am so you know how I live try to look proud but you’re not in the slightest its happening now and it’s always been like this.
