To be honest, I know next-to-nothing about the AoM editor... except that it is supposedly to be a huge step above and beyond the solid AoK editor. So, I pose the question:

What aspect of the AoM editor are you most looking forward to?

I'll do some research into the AoM editor, and I'll give you my answer tomorrow. In the meantime, what are you excited about in regards to the editor?

One word: Easy. The AoK editor was so hard to use. I had plenty of ideas but I couldn't make them work. I'm looking forward to a user-friendly editor.

Um, personally I think the aok editor was the easiest of any editor yet. Even though it was an unsupported feature it was still used when the aok lookalike game SW:GB came out. If you want a hard editor go play around with the EE one.

I hope the cinematics will be as easy as the WC3 ones. I also hope it still uses a simple type of triggering, like Condition\Effect thing. It worked very well with aok, not so well with EE. I can't wait to make real movies in the game.

I am actually happy that the editor is supa powerful.

I am actually very interested and excited about the in-game cinimatics.

I was never really interested in making scenarios for AoK. Basically all i used it for was to compare units and make them fight. Now i am planning a full length campaign, and it seems like i'll be able to do anything i want. I am actaully very excited!

can't wait.

The only part of AoK editor I hated was triggers; if you created a detailed scenario, it took literally hundreds of them. And you couldn't copy them either. I have this LoTR scenario I abandoned (cuz of AoM Alpha ), and after I finished the first town, I had 130 triggers.

Yeah, the new features to make designing easier will be great. I'm especially looking forwards to some sort of map-copy feature, and the "beautify" feature.

Say, I heard you would be able to change a units size. Has anyone else heard this? Seems too crazy for me...

You could do that in the EE editor really easy(one of the few triggers i could work) and since AoM is gonna be in 3D as well i would think you can.

What I just said is a lie.

Where could you do that in EE? I made hundreds of Scenarios and never found that.

The AoK editor is not hard to use; you must know and accept the impossibilities, that's all.

OK, I'll change my statement to 'I found the AoK editor hard to use.' Happy now? Sentence Fragment! To be more grammatically correct; Are you happy now?

What will I enjoy about it? For one, I love RPGs. AoM will has a great theme for RPGs (almost all myth stories are a quest of some kind, IE, Hercules, Bellpheron...), as I said in my GP thread here. Also, the mythology will make it much more possible then in AoK to make a, say, LoTR campaign.

So all in all, I'd say that it's the content of the game that'll make me use it, rather the the power of the editor.

Shelper - you'll be the first on my list.

The whole new plot-lines that will develop from AoM.

There will be no kings here, there will be heroes, and pharoahs. No guns here.

XS? What is XS?

Please explain to a n00b like me. I am not very observant and it is probably something very obvious...

I would be lying if I didn't say I am looking forward to the whole editor. However, some of the key things I am looking forward to include XS. But I can plainly see other forumers look forward to that too.

When I created Scenarios for previous age games, I was a good graphic artist...I could come up with many possiblities dealing with graphics and the plot. I am mostly looking forward to the possibilities you can do with the graphics (Zooms, Unit Triggers, etc.) and things that help the Plot (Cinematics, and so on). But one thing that I look forward to as well is the AI. I want to see the advancements that ES put in AoM's AI. I could probably go on and on about the stuff I am looking forward to. So as you can see, I literally am looking forward to the whole editor.

As well, I also agree with you, Shelper. It is nice testing scenarios and campaigns.

XS = RMS...?
