We have once again released new material on the editor. This time, it's a full preview of about everything in the editor along with screenshots. I have decided to explain each and every menu and thing in the editor minus some stuff that either didn't work or that I have yet to understand.

Great preview, EO! That was a very interesting read
Well, I for one am very pumped up about the AoM Editor. I'm anticipating seeing a huge drop in my grades at school, and getting even less sleep then I do now...

lol, me too... How will I explain to my parents how I lost a $5k scholarship for a comp game
I think that 'Windows 3.1' look goes well with the editor. I mean, come on, people want the outcome of their work to look nice, not their tools. You don't see people decorating hammers.
It does look plain, but to me, as an AoK scenario designer, I could care less about how the UI looks, as long as it is easy to use and organized.
Thanks Eo. Very proffesional! Thnx for all the pictures! I'm really excited about what we can do with the objectives and terrain and such. Once again, great job Eo.

Actually ancient people decorated all their tools very nicely. Even today your computer or pen or screwdriver has probably been designed by someone with a degree in that design field.
I really like the textures of maps on the AoE and AoK editors, and while they're not a "must", they are better than an in-development look.
As for the looks of the editor. If you have seen the look of the random map script editor I use for AOC maps, you wouldn't mind the look of the AOM editor. Basicaly the RM editor is 3 colors: Grey, black letters, and white backgound. Kinda bland but it gets the job done without causing distractions.
