Dear newcomers to the HoV.
I would like to take the time to tell you about a place known as The Halls of Valhalla.

The Halls of Valhalla is the community forum used to post anything that doesn't belong in the other sections of AoMH.
Simple enough, right?

WRONG.

What is the LPW?
The LPW stands for Last Post Wins. It is a traditional game started way back at the beginning of AoMH, this thread is used for posting content which typically does not deserve its own thread. If you have some random youtube video that doesn't warrant discussion, or crap you want to post, do it here.
At the same time as being a container for crap, it also serves as a game. The last poster, or in this case since the post cap limit was raised, the poster who gets post 2500, wins, and may then create the new LPW. Please make sure you know your Roman Numerals.

Please read the following guidelines about how to post in the HoV:

1. Put some effort into your posting. "Is my post or reply significantly interesting, humorous, or contributing to the discussion at hand?" If you cannot answer "Yes" to this, do not post it.

If you are going to post a thread in HoV, you are going to need to explain why you think it's an interesting & original topic. This can be done literally, or through the thread content itself. If you can't spend some time doing this, please don't post the thread.

You need to put effort into your replies as well. Don't regurgitate stupid catchphrases or memes, no matter how you rephrase them.

2. Stop typing like a retard: proper punctuation, spelling and grammar are a requirement for every post in HoV.

3. Don't try to tear down someone else's posting. Threadshitting makes up the worst posting on the forums - it doesn't contribute anything at all to the discussion at hand, and sabotages an opportunity for posters to make a bad thread good. Trolling is also a problem: this includes personal attacks, incredibly shitty arguments, spiteful fakeposting, and generally acting like an unfunny dickhead. Just because someone is posting like a complete idiot doesn't mean you can call them a stupid asshole - you need to take the time and intelligently point out why they are being a stupid asshole.

4. Stop being the trash of the Internet. Acting like a creep, bigot, or self-righteous a**hole is especially frowned upon. If you've got some horrible opinion about a culture, race, gender, sexual orientation or individual, please keep it to yourself and do not post on these forums.

If you choose to act creepy, or any of the aforementioned no-nos for the sake of irony, you do so at your own risk. Irony and intent can be hard to judge in the volumes of stupidity we sometimes witness, and if a mod misjudges the intent of your post.... tough. If you're not prepared to take the risk then just don't do it.

Some of you might see this as a crackdown, but hey, that's what Shanks wants.

CLEANSE HOV OF ALL UNWORTHY TRASH!

For further guidelines.
Read the sticky threads to learn more.
We happen to have a very nice one about how to make neat looking signatures, and a two very nice ones that include information valuable to any potential stalker.

From the Admins:

While HeavenGames has an established Code of Conduct, most community forums in the network choose to interpret the rules more loosely. While most of the CoC still applies, such as the rules on porn, pirated materials, and spamming, other aspects are allowed in the right situations. It is highly advised that you lurk the forum and observe regular posting habits before you start posting yourself. If you have any questions regarding moderation, feel free to email any moderator of this forum.

I will apologise for my language - I have a heavy resentment for condescending language, having experienced it much too often before and always despising it. I will be more welcoming - but you shouldn't act like you're dealing with children.

I have an issue with the way retard is misused too. However they either don't know better or do, and are making a point. Freaky was the latter. Also, you don't admit you believe the person in question is a child and menstruate all over him. The whole tone of the post starting at the title was meant to make the point very blunt and to break it down into easily digestible guidelines.

But she is Shraze. Just a lot easier to try act grown-up. Just that most people here apparently have a really ****ed up perspective of 'grown-up'.

I'm sorry, did someone call me? I heard '****ed up' and 'grownup'.

Is it too late to pick a side in this argument and make a mock argument for that side even though I couldn't give a shit? That's always so much fun.

and Baske, I bought your piece of crap game you and SOV have been annoying me about, are YOU going to get online?

Hey guys, sorry for the confusion.
I was intending to insult people.
I was not making a point, I was being crude and unoriginal.
I am truly a hateful person, and I despise those who are mentally and physically challenged.

I am sorry.
Thank you for your time.

Thank you Baske. Much love and appreciation, stud.

lol Don't think that I don't see your post for its disguise, Noob. It's obvious that what you really were saying was, "Rhonda, quit annoying everyone!" (I do appreciate your effort to put it kindly , however ).

For the record, feelings of annoyance were coming from both ends. If my "yawn" response caused any irritation, it's merely in kind to the annoyers who decided they wanted to instigate a petty bicker session when nothing of the sort was intended on my part at the beginning. Shraze and Xzyiothe were obviously looking to frustrate me. So, what difference does it make if my "yawn" reply has a likewise affect? Obviously, you would see that early on if you weren't agreeing with them to shut me up.

See what I mean?

Listen,
Childish insulting language is childish insulting language, and its unnecessary. There are simply better words than "retard" to use to make a point. Do you understand or not?

40% of adults are childish?
...
Well, I guess one can say it with some degree of credibility...I'll accept it.

At any rate, you, dear Mozzerella, have no right whatsoever to make a judgement call of what is childish or not, provided that you just sarcastically mocked me by using the r-word, something that a grown-up 18-30yo man normally does. (Of course, you yourself might fall within the range of my guestimated statistic of 30%, like I supposedly do. )

Thanks for making my day Rhonda. I read this whole argument and its a big laugh. Do you suffer from psychopathy? Because from the tone of your (hilariously naive) posts, it sounds like you cant detect emotion like the rest of us.

There are two punctuation mistakes above, if you want to attack my grammer (<-- misspelling), or you can just attack this sentance (<--misspelling) and completely ignore what I wrote above.

Er. Well, I wouldn't necessarily say that I "suffer" from it, but yes, people have said that I am a bit cold and psychopathic every so often. Does that answer your question? If you are interested in knowing a little more, read my "off-topic".

And, I'm sorry that my blunt-cold mouth is too much for some to handle. Nevertheless, this doesn't stop me from making out what I believe the truth is, even if it is slap-stick irritating. Then again, what is irritating to a group of people may not be to others. My problem is that, naturally, I can be pretty stubborn and un-adapting to the current environment sometimes, and I own up to this.

Off-topic (If you don't mind a half-in-depth read) -
In real life, I've generally heard two things about my personality, both of which are opposites of each other at the extreme ends of the emotional spectrum. The first is, as you put it, a kind of stony display of psychopathy, where I can't seem to understand the feelings that people go through; rather, I seem to only pay attention to utility, mechanics and things produced by the logicality (a term?) behind the meaning of words and ideas. The second, being the exact opposite, is that of an overtly-empathizing being, where emotions attached to words, as well as people's feelings, count more to me than anything else in my world; my "caring too much" about what other people feel and my "being too emotional" to every little nuance being mentioned may sometimes land me in trouble.

One can say, as my little brother does, that I am a bit bi-polar; heck, even I believe it sometimes. I guess what personality I consciously or unconsciously choose to display depends on the specific situation and environment.
