Don't think it's easily possible, too complicated for me anyway, like forget it. Just place as many units as you want within the editor by the time you create your scenario. And you could always have triggers changing cinematic blocs into units later, whenever you want. You should post this kind of questions here.
Isn't it in "Scenario Settings" in the editor? That way you can change the maximum to above 300 pop.

I'm pretty sure the limit is still 300, even if you set it to higher than that. Besides we generally want to avoid doing something with the editor, because that means it would require a custom scenario to impliment.
I haven't acually found the file that stores the 300 pop cap max, it might be one of those things that's hard-coded in the executable.
Population Max is (from what I've noted) hard coded into the executable; however, with the proper tools, it shouldn't be too hard to edit. Remember that constants like that are usually coded into a constant at the top of the program for editing and testing purposes instead of in the if/while/for statements that deal with the problem.
That means that you can probably find the variable and change it pretty easily.
EDIT: But remember, this means the average AOMer would probably not play your game because in order to do so they would have to alter their game.

You got your answers. Beside I found 300 limit already a way to high, and more than enough. Think of the lag! 300 units active at the same time and you've got no playable game no more. Anyway, you cannot go over 300 through the " Scenario >>> Player Data " in the editor. Even if you write 666 there, it won't do any difference.
And remember as CodeLabMaster said, it wouldn't work easily for others. So, now, the question is: do you really need it? I have a good machine and hate scenarii with more than 50 units at the same time.
