The siege of Troy

Author File Description

File Details
Version: AoM: The Titans
I edited the campaign map 'a fine plan' and added automatic reinforcements (you can still build ships and minotaurs)for both you and Troy. It's also a little harder (not too hard). There is also an allied Greek camp which has Achilles (+ a suprise). If you like automatic reinforcements then you should download this but if you don't like it then don't download.

btw: this is NOT my first map but the first one i release and there are more coming!

Put the file in Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\scenario.
And reviews are welcome.

mgs15 I haven't downloaded yet, but did you edit the AI of the main enemy? As far as i know, AI's in the Fall of the Trident campaign (Arkantos' story)does not contain any regular AOM AI's in them. I guess it's the triggers that make your enemies move in that campaign. Notice that they are only training few kinds of units (not variation) ex. In this scn "A Fine Plan", Troy only trains hippikons and hoplites, meaning the AI strategy is the same. In Random map games, the units the the enemy train may depend on what you train ex. if you train cavalry, the enemy may train hoplites... Well, if you edited the enemy AI (maybe put a regular AOM AI) for Troy, then this must be worth a download for me.

Second, I rarely use the editor. Can you teach me how to edit scenarios from the original AOM campaigns using the editor? Please tell me how to do it in a step by step manner... Thanks.

Troy doesn't have an AI. It's armie's are made using triggers. As i said it has automatic reinforcements (with triggers). And to edit a campaign map just start it, then go to the main menu and open the editor. Go to file and at the bottom it should say 1 xspc\aomx02.scx ( for example) click on it and you should have the campaign map just save it and you got your own map.
To open the fall of the trident maps with the titan expansion you need to open the map with the normal aom.exe and then save it and load it with the aomx.exe then select save as and change .scn to .scx. To make reinforcements make a trigger with loop function and a timer and the deploy army action.
For examples you should look at my triggers.

Hope this helps.
mgs15 Oh! Thanks! Now I can make changes to the Fall of the Trident scns. It's been a long time since I want to edit such scns by putting a regular AOM AI to make those scns challenging.

Anyways, I might try to play your scn if I find time. Thanks again.

No problem.
Quick Sc0p3 Hey I'm trying to make a map. How do you add automatic reanforcements? Like you did in this map and the other one?

To make automatic reinforcements go to triggers> triggers>insert now make sure the trigger has a loop function (that makes the trigger restart itself)go to conditions and change always to timer then enter an amout of seconds (shouldn't be too low) and you could add some more conditions, now go to effects let's say you want to make reinforcements for player 1 change setidleprocess to armydeploy select a unit owned by player 1 now press make it should say army plyr1army11 then set a point where you want the reinforcements to spawn.
This should be enough if you only want reinforcements to spawn but to move them click insert and change setidleprocess to army move, now select plyr1army11 as the army (so it says army plyr1army11) and set a point to move the reinforcements. If you want the reinforcements to attack you will have to set attack move on.
If you want to move the reinforcements to a unit or building, then you will have to change army move to army move to unit then select your army and after that you will have to select the target unit select the unit/building first then click target unit.

Good luck with using this in maps, i hope it helps.
