Version: AoM: The Titans
This small mod just makes available the Egyptian "priest outpost" textures for all four civilizations.

It has a texture for Greek, one for Norse and ine for Atlantean. Egyptian one will remain the default texture.

This is my first mod that I've published here so far and my first textures mod.

You're right. You can use them in your scenarios, if you want. Otherwise, you can build it ingame by modifying the "protox.xml" and "techtreex.xml files, making it available for all other civilizations.

the Obelisk is useless to the factions for supremacy players, however they add new possibilities for building merging and for factions, it adds a whole new depth that you can go into for scenario design.

Vin3 How do I edit the files "protox.xml" and "techtreex.xml" so that all nations can build obelisks? I searched the file "techtreex.xml" not found ...

You have to extract them from "data2.bar" using BarExplorer (you can find it in the Utility Programs category of AoM Heaven). After this, convert them from .xmb to .xml format using AoMEd (available in the same category). Then, you have to edit them in the following way.

Protox.xml: search for the builders (villagers, ulfsark, etc...) until you get some lines like these:

train row="1" page="1" column="1">Farm /train>
train row="0" page="1" column="4">Dock /train>
train row="1" page="1" column="2">Tower /train>

where "row" and "column" are coordinates for the icons of the "building" function ingame. So add a new line for the Outpost, placing it in an empty point. Remember that the empty poin may vary civ-by-civ.

Techtreex.xml: search for the main gods in lines like these:

tech name="Age 1 Zeus" type="Normal">

tech name="Age 1 Hades" type="Normal">


Each command has many "effects", like this:


effect amount="1.00" relativity="Absolute" subtype="Enable" type="Data">

target type="ProtoUnit">House /target>



Add a new command for the Outpost (be careful not to do errors). Search only for Atlantean, Greek and Norse major gods, since that Egyptian already can build outposts.

After that, put the two files in the "Data" folder of Age Of Mythology. The game will use these modified files instead of those in "Data2.bar" ones.

Just note that some < are missing in this post...
