This has been up on DGDN for a while so I think it's about time for me to announce it here :)
Horde
The Basic Idea:
A single player supremacy map. This is almost a never ending Random Map scenario. You start off attacking one enemy base, once destroyed, another is created and you face a different wave of enemies from the newly created base. This continues through the ages; as you destroy the next base a new one is created on the map with harder units to face of against.
Features/Extra Things Added:
Ultimately you decide when the game becomes harder by destroying the next base.
You are rated on how many waves and bases you destroyed at the end of the game.
The Enemy taunts you about every 2 minutes.
Some resources are randomised.
The whole game experience is centralised around the difficulty that you choose pre-game.
There are also 20 achievements to unlock as well. These boost score. These were designed for people that are not normally focused on supremacy maps when gaming in AoM. That in mind, most supremacy players will unlock at least 6 just by doing basic things that every sup player would do (scout, kill, age up etc.).
Basic Game:
The scenario starts off like a random map, you start with one Town Centre and starting units. You may play as any god in any civilisation. Some resources have randomised locations, others do not. The time that it takes before the first wave of enemy units are sent depends on the difficulty the user is playing on. However, there is no minimum time deciding when you may attack. Continue enduring and beating back wave after wave and destroying base after base, until either you resign, are overun and thus lose your starting Town Centre or beat the computer and enjoy sweet, sweet victory. No matter how the game ends you will get a rating and a title and message that reflects your score.
About the Rating System:
It ranges between 0 and around 3500. This rating system should NOT be compared to the ESO rating system, they are completely different. So should you get around 1200 score then do not take that as an insult. The same goes should you acquire a 2700ish score. A message and a title that reflects your SCORE, not your play style, will also be sent along with the score itself - which will be something along the lines of an attempt to provide constructive criticism.
This scenario is remarakably tough. inherently challenging, sure, and guaran-*******-teed to have me hooked for a good while. The Castle Saga was rather like this for that reason.
I will say, that as Norse, I died very quickly. (it was on moderate.) I tried again with Zeus and spammed Myrmidons he second time and managd to own a good portion of the map. I just plain suck with Norse.
Cannot currently recall what my score was... played for at least an hour... maybe two. Will review when I get back to my CPU.
