This strategy works especially against non-egyptian players.
Many players use Centaur, Riding Cavalry, Hippocon or other fast moving armies to raid enemy villagers. But nobody, As long as I have been playing, hadnt considered that Sphinks could work also for that purpose. Actually, i think they are best villager raiders.
Sphinks are the best "hit and run" units because:
- When you uprade the all two updates for sphinks, they are one of the fastest units in AOMX.
- Buildings such as walls, towers and TCs cant stop them.
- Non hero human soldiers hardly can stop them unless they are pretty upraged or pretty many.
- They are pretty high damage units against villagers and kill them fast.
- None of the classical heros can catch them because they are so fast moving.
- You can hit and run until your reach your forward base were you can heal them.
Some hints with the strategy:
- Build your statues quickly
- Never lose your sphinks, try to avoid losing even one sphink.
- Raid until your sphinks has 25% of healt and then heal them.
- Make your forward base quickly, so you can build mercenary when you are under attack. People use to attack in your forward base.
-Start getting TCs down when you have something like 7 or more sphinks.
