AoM: The Titans |
Yes, it's a tower defence game as you might have guessed. But this is not simply a game, it is a revolution.
So what makes this map so special you ask? While the regular tower defence mechanics apply, this time YOU are responsible for spawning creeps and sending them against your foes while defending your base! The premise is simple yet the game mechanics and possible strategies are complex.
Obviously you'll need gold to send attacks, and you'll get a regular shipment of gold on top of a bounty for making kills. So why bother sending lesser units when you are giving the enemy a bounty on kills and you could just save for the big units? The answer is that sending units will increase your income! Accessing the stronger units is impossible without increasing your income, so you must balance the income you have on defence, attack and investment.
There are only two towers that can be built in this game. Your standard tower with 5 attack and a mirror tower with 20 attack which is better at the faster units. This makes defending nice and simple, while still allowing a decent challenge.
So, let's hear more about the units you can send to smash through the pitiful defences of your enemy:
There are seven classes.
- Infantry - Weak standard units of the early game.
- Archers - Weak standard units of the early game.
- Cavalry - Early fast units.
- Armoured units - Mid game units with high health countered by their slow speed and high bounty.
- Myth units - Faster and more expensive than armoued units with a lower bounty.
- Heroes - Fast and agile, you don't want to see them rush into your base. High bounty but no income boost.
- Uber units - The most powerful units, they have a very high bounty and cost and also DECREASE your income, save up for these if all else fails!
| Name | Cost | Income effect | Health | Bounty | | Militia | 10 | +1 | 10 | 1 | | Toxote | 10 | +1 | 15 | 1 | | Spearman | 15 | +1 | 25 | 2 | | Arcus | 20 | +2 | 20 | 2 | | Murmillo | 40 | +4 | 45 | 4 | | Prodomos | 50 | +4 | 50 | 5 | | Fanatic | 60 | +6 | 70 | 6 | | Hippokon | 75 | +7 | 70 | 7 | | Chariot | 80 | +8 | 70 (fast) | 8 | | Contarius | 100 | +9 | 90 (fast) | 10 | | Elephant | 150 | +12 | 250 | 25 | | Automaton | 200 | +15 | 300 | 30 | | Behemoth | 250 | +18 | 500 | 35 | | Fire Siphon | 400 | +25 | 1000 | 40 | | Sphinx | 400 | +30 | 450 | 20 | | Centaur | 600 | +50 | 650 | 30 | | Valkyrie | 800 | +60 | 900 | 40 | | Atalanta | 1000 | -100 | 1000 (fast) | 300 | | Achilles | 2000 | -200 | 2000 (fast) | 400 | | Bellerophon | 3500 | -300 | 6000 (fast) | 500 | | Guardian | 7000 | -400 | 10000 | 1000 | | Laser Bear | 7000 | -500 | 6000 (fast) | 2000 |
Don't worry if the enemy you attack is a noob/inactive. You'll simply smash through, defeat them, and then be sending units to attack the next player along. Such is the beauty of the map design.
Upon defeat, you will be given a score based on your performance (kills, strength of units killed, defense) and invited to AoMH to celebrate and join us.
UPDATED VERSION 1.1
Towers can be upgraded mid game.
Added four host options (extra lives, income, unit bounty, unlock 3rd tower).
Movement bugs fixed. |
