tranceman Hello,

I have changed the story line of my scenario. First i wanted to make it a egypt camp. (from dusk till dawn)but i have changed it into a greek camp. and also the story is better and well... everything is better. If you asked me, the best map in the scenario section!

Pretty good! Nice intro cinematic, a bit of a story, and a nest of bad guys to deal with. A bit limited on what you can build, and no way to advance ages, but obviously this was intentional.


Balance: 3
Seemed okay to me. A bit more hit and run than maybe I'd prefer, but that's not a big minus. By hit and run I mean that you have to be careful to only activate a small number of enemies at a time, then run to a safe place from which to fight, then allow for healing (which can get a bit tedious), and then repeat. Many times.


Creativity: 4
Pretty creative. Multiple uses, but not endless uses, of one of the God powers was an interesting idea. The story worked just fine.


Map Design: 4
The author did nicely. There was a flaw with some of the mountains in one area, where you could essentially walk through them into what I think is supposed to be an underground area, but besides that, it seemed nicely done. It included a plausible town area, with villagers not just standing around. Even a fair amount of 'half completed' work in evidence, so it didn't just look like the villagers began working at the moment of the start of the story. A little more spice might have been nice, like rewarding very careful and very thorough exploration with a relic or a fun trigger.



Story/Instructions: 2
At least there were both instructions and a story. Nice departure from everything else I've downloaded so far!

Thin on goals, but still not bad. Maybe a couple of more things to accomplish would flesh this scenario out a bit more.

Should probably take into account the possibility of the central hero's death. In my play test the central hero died, and after a while I won anyway. I had, at first, tried running full speed through the enemy area and found the item that was mentioned in the final 'victory' message. Then after quite a bit of fighting, and some time later, the hero dies, and a few minutes later I had a victory.

Interesting.

This designer shows a great deal of promise. I look forward to the next scenario in the series.

Good, i cant build much though, but i feel that it isnt necessary in this scenario.

Balance: 3
At first it was quite difficult; but my second try was much better, but some people might have lotsa problems with the large waves of cyclopses.

Creativity: 4
Pretty nice cinematic and some creative uses such as the multiple bolts

Map Design: 4
Map design is very nice, no special eye candy but the entire map looks great

Story/Instructions 3 :
There is some story, but seeing how it's a demo and i do not know the entire story i cannot really rate it.

Nice going there, but u can certainly improve at points. Rather than just the plain and simple build and destroy type of thing. The 2 rating comes because, the game even continues even if AJAX dies, major stuff there. Also, I would say in classical age provide the GP.

If some n00b downloads this he is screwed. Maybe give them one more hero. The waves of cyclops are quite strong, and wthout any instructions on this, it becomes a bit difficult.

Okie, I would say. Being a demo, I can't comment much on this, so a 2 goes here (average score), but marks cutt of for more creativity is story telling and maybe some side quests.


Map Design: 3
Was a good map, but remember AoM offers incredible eye-candy excess. Refer Rasher's template for more stuff.

Story/Instructions: 2
Sucked IMO. The cinematic is there, but inbetween for some seconds Ajax is cutt off. Some rotation of cameras could be nice, zooming in/out maybe. I am not saying use zoom editor, but even with just the default settings. Also, there is a better way to show stories. Ajax returns from war, make him return with a small army. Before this, u could show him fighting in the war for more effect.

Good start. Didn't like that I couldn't advance ages would rather have atleast one advance in the scenario but as said before I understand this was intentional. Really like the fact that you don't start with a prebuilt city. I think it's more fun if you start with very little.

Balance: 3
Fairly even flow of attacks. Kinda hard to weather them at the beginning perhaps as said before an extra hero. A healing temple or a hero with healing ability would have been nice.

Creativity: 4
Really like the story line or what there is of it thus far. Definetly got me hooked to find out what happens next.

Map Design: 3
Thought the map was nice. Nothing was breath taking but nice. Liked how you could walk up on the ridges around the cave entrance and had enough space to build towers.

Story/Instructions: 4
As stated before liked the story. Thought the instructions were very clear cut.

Looking forward to the next scenario. Agree with a previoius review though a reward for exploring the map would have been nice.

Hello There,

some reactions about the comments made by you people.

AJAX.. if he dies he regenarates. This because some people are not that good in playing the game and would be overwelmed by the hordes of cyclops. So if you have a strong hero that cant die, its beter playable.

About gift. Get 1000 Gold, and see what gifts you get!

I will upload a new home coming map with some changes.
Like, more harder, less time between the lightning stormes. And some other stuff, like eye candy!.
I also have almost completed my second map, and it will be here soon, its in the underworld. Very cool!

Thanks for your comments and keep putting them here so i can learn form them.
