This is Admiral AI for AoMX. It is based on the standard AI for AoMX.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- supports most random maps available at http://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/lister.php?category=rms
- explores other islands
- claims settlements on other islands
- claims gold from other islands once the gold on the mainbase is exhausted
- overall better behaviour on water maps
- simple raiding behaviour
- builds forward bases
- tries to build forward bases on enemy islands
- better, more intelligent use of many of the godpowers
- more intelligent placement of isis monuments
- increased overall strength
This AI is meant to be more entertaining than the default AI.
My main focus when developing this AI was to create an entertaining AI.
Altough I claim that this is the strongest AoM AI on the planet, strength was only my second motivation ;)
check the included readme for details and an installation guide.
Current version: 20050814. If your version is older, please get the latest one!
Hehe, thank you. Well I won't do anything more for AoM but I think I will start again for AoE III

The AI works great for docks and ships! I do have one problem I hope someone can help me with.
When using the defualt Admiral AI once I reach the classic age the game begins freezing. I think it has to do with the number of units in the map?
As units are moving around, the entire game will freeze for 1 second. Resume and every 5 seconds it will pause again for 1 second. Basically lag.
This problem occurs with two different maps I made. One a water map and the other is all land with no water.
Using AOM's default AI the freeze problem does not occur. Anyone have any ideas?
Here is my water map if anyone wants\needs to test it.

A very solid AI for the most part. However, it does have one verrrrry small bug. When you play on an Erebus map where the primary food source in the very beginning of the game is boar, the AI players (of any civilization) will not hunt the boar. And because of this, the AI players pretty much never progress past the Archaic Age (since you always need considerable amount of food to progress through the ages). I'm guessing the reason for this is because boar fight back when you try to hunt them and AI players I've noticed usually only hunt wild animals with a considerably large number of villagers but since villagers cost food and they have no other means of gathering food in the beginning of the game other than the boar they won't hunt for, they have no means of producing villagers (or at least enough that they'll go hunting with) and thus, their civilizations remain stuck in the Archaic Age. To remedy this however, just replace the boar (or at least the ones in the beginning of the game that you start off with as your food source...you don't have to replace EVERY boar on the entire map) with either chickens or berry bushes and the AI players should function just fine.
Just some things I thought I'd point out to anyone struggling with the same issue...since it took me hours to figure out what was wrong with the AI players on my map and it was an issue that was leaving me very frustrated at the time. Other than that very minor issue though, it's a very good AI, so nice work =)

Eight years later I find exactly what I was looking for!! BEST AI EVER. One question though, how do you turn off the AI "seeing" you? And how does it affect its play?
