The Greatest Empire - By Isengrim

I sketched this map out with the intent on making it a multiplayer map. But, couldn't be bothered after a while. When TT came out I continued the map, but it just became a single player scenario.

I really do hope that you enjoy this scenario. It was my favourite in-making scenario. It has day/night sequence. I can't remember if I set snow to fall, but well you'll see if you download it. The idea of this map is to battle it out to become the Greatest Empire in each four corners of the world. The four corners are roughly seperated with streams but you get the idea. I've tested this level several times myself, even played with friends on it, and the thought it was good, but now it is time to unvail my scenario to the rest of the world. Obviously it would be great if anyone who downloads this level please comment on it, so I can improve it or put your knowledge to any of my new scenarios.

See ya again soon...Isengrim

It was pretty good, go work some more on map design, use the smooth button some more and try to come up with something original

There are two minor technical flaws in there: The Greeks will always lose a couple of villagers hunting east of their TC, because they get stuck and the AI doesn't find the way to get back. Also, some of the settlements are not aligned with the grid, so it's not possible to build TCs there.

The main problem however is that this is no 'scenario' the way I understand the word, it's sort of a 'non-random random map'. It's playable in the sense that there are no major bugs in there, but where's the point? It lacks the flexibility of a random map as well as all the extras of a well-designed scenario. It's just not interesting to play. (Certainly not more than once.)

Balance: 5
The standard AI can be used with its four difficulty levels. This makes for an adjustable balance which should be perfect for any player's skill level.

Creativity: 1
It's simply a random map, without anything 'random'. Can it get any less creative?

Map Design: 3
What we have here is a generated random map with minimal adjustments. It doesn't look bad, just completely uninteresting. You should have taken a little more time to work it over. Add some embellishments, make it 'live'.

Story/Instructions: 1
There are none. As in most of these cases, the standard assumption 'kill everything you see' proved to be correct.

Additional Comments:
A day/night circle usually contains four parts: Day/dusk/night/dawn.

Although quite negative, thanx for the review. It was meant to be a kind of random-map, training really. I use this scenario as a training ground for my skills in multiplayer.
thanx The Bard anyway.
