Eh. Not a bad map, but it was too easy for me to really be much fun. I liked the limitation of a single Town Center and only a few gold mines, but even without the Titan I just walked in and wiped them out. A big drop in the fun factor was when I lost my beloved Tartan Gate to the Meteor Shower. I went back and replayed the map just so I could win again with the hellspawn. Mmm, hellspawn. ^_~
There was a large enough force waiting at the end to be fun to fight, but it was still very easy to beat. Since I could field a whole army of Heroes, the Myth units really never stood a chance. The Chaos and Tartan’s Gate powers really cut a swath as well. You may want to limit God powers, or just the Ages themselves. Titans are a definite no-no, I’m not sure why more folks don’t block them from the build list. :P
Creativity (Nifty factor) : 2
This was a very basic 'Kill Player X' scenario. I would have liked to see a little more inventiveness in the objectives. There was a lot of land left open that could have been used to distract and confuse the player.
Map Design: 3
Good placement of resources, but I’d like to see a little more variety in the terrain. The patches of snow are nice, but there are plenty of ‘sand’ textures you didn’t utilize. There were also large portions of the map with nothing on it, you might want to make the pass through to the end a little harder with another foe, or just a span of water to cross. I never ran into the naval units, and didn’t even notice them until I won the map.
The cinematics were nicely done and gave the basic plotline and objectives. Still, I would have liked to see the objectives listed as such. I didn’t realize that I had missed obelisks until much later in the game (when I lost my Tartan Gate to the Meteor Shower, darnit!)
Anywho, I had a decent time playing the map, with hellspawn and without. *grin*
Just my 2 cents as always! ^_^
