This thing sound really nice but I have a few questions:
- Is it to play it on ESO?(I would really enjoy attacking some poor bemuses hoplites with an huge army of orc...)
- Could you tell me the 3D software that you used and how to make mod. (or tell me someone that can help me.)
- How much time did you spend on it?
I haven't downloaded it yet but but I am sure it is really nice. |

1: ESO crashes when using new units unless the other also has it.
2: Read the library |

I'm curious. What program did you use for these? It looks like MSPaint. If you don't want to get Photoshop or whatever because of the price, just get GIMP. http://gimp.org. It's a free version (No, it's not pirated. The people coded it themselves.) of PS.
Also, I would HIGHLY suggest increasing the resolution of the textures.
And, (I'm not accusing, I'd just like to ask something) are you sure you didn't leave out some credits in the readme? Gimli, Minas Tirith, the red face of the uruk hai, and a few others don't look like MSPaint work. (And I know I've seen the uruk face before)
Good job for making a tech trees and stuff though.
I think some of the mods would be more interesting if they were more than inverted colors. |

In response to the above comments.

1. Not sure what ESO means but the mods should work in the following play modes.
a) Player 1 (a human) is either Middle Earth of Mordor. You need to place either a middle earth village or a tower of isengard so that the tech tree logic kicks in and supports the new protounits.
b) A two (human) player should work but I haven't tried it.
2. The only new model is the Saruman (also used for gandalf) created by Diomedes.
3. How much time? My wife would say far too much but my kids like it. Added all together probably a 100+ hours over 3 months.

1. Yes most of the textures are MSPaint and are very basic. I am no artist and by children (5,7 and 9) are mainly into seeing the characters faces on the icons.
2. As I said in the readme let me know if anything looks familiar. The initial uruk hai could have come from Odysseus55 and the original Ggimli from Lord Elibel (I have downloaded copies of both these mods, I certainly looked at a lot of stuff before embarking on this, and as said in the readme please let me know and I will update the credits.
General
I have found a number of bugs since posting and will release a fix for these shortly. The Known Errors are:
1. The Eagle Lords are unarmored
2. The Market Price logic in Ivy Bush Bypass makes trading more expensive rather than less expensive.
3. The elven guild logo is scrambled as I misspelt the icon file.
4. The elven artisans keep performing the build anim on the House of Elrond even when the build is compete./
5. You cant build the Tower of Ecthelion as the prounit isn't enabled in the Techtree.
6. Gandalf the White/Gandalf Riding don't have the HeroDeath flag set in to proto.
7. The Last Alliance tech is not available as the prereq is misspelt.
I will try and post a fix for these bugs and the additional credits over the weekend. If you find any others let me know.

To Lexus Reloaded - thanks for the explanation (though I am still unsure what that means - I assume online person v. person game).
Having looked at a few other files I think the use could also be expanded if the .XS files in the RM2 directory (eg. the random map scripts could auto generate a middle earth village or tower of isengard). I tried to do this but the script bombed on loading - I tried to include an if/else statement on the settlement level 1 and tower definitions but obviously didn't get it right.
As you may have realised I am out of my depth, but my kids were quite stoked about the idea that other people in the world could download this stuff - we are going to have a look tomorrow (Saturay Oz time) - and to be honest, if the stuff I have posted has any merit, I wouldn't mind a more computer literate LOTR fan taking ownership. If not my kids liking seeing the LOTR icons when they play a game so I'm contented.
I just like the fact that there are people like you out there, taking computer games beyond the shrink wrap, because you are great role-models for my kids - you don't make your millions playing arcade games!

Thanks for the info but it is not working: the units and building doesn't appear even if I can still click on them and command them but the units are invisible. I think you should have put an autoinstaller but I have nothing because if I couldn't do 1/10 of what you did... |

Every unit appears except the Warg Rider. |

If the units are there but invisible that suggests that the protox file is ok but it is not picking up either the anim files or the texture files they refer to. My guess is that it is the anim files (as these are based on modding standard aom characters and if it is just that the new textures are not being picked up you should still see the default - eg. if the ReplaceTexture fails to find a new texture it should still show the original).
I agree about the auto installer - if someone can direct me to a tool that would let me do this I will try and create one.
Not sure what Screenies are - sorry!
