"In a hole in the ground, there lived a Hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a Hobbit-hole, and that means comfort." - The Hobbit, by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien
The scenario 'The Hobbit' chronicles nearly every major plot point in the novel, from the encounter with the Trolls to the Battle of Five Armies. I tried to stay as close to the original story as possible, incorporating a lot of dialogue straight from the book. Other features include:
- Different gameplay methods such as stealth and strategy
- RPG elements such as sub-quests
- A level-up system based on the number and type of enemies you kill
- A bonus mission should you reach high enough a level
- Cinematic cut-scenes render important points of the plot
- An 'html' readme file which contains many tips and tricks, as well as a comprehensive walkthrough for every sub-quest and power-up in the game
- Different modes of gameplay for beginners and experts
NOTE: The scenario can theoretically be played on all difficulty levels, with varying degrees of difficulty respectively. I would play on 'Easy' though, for that is what I based my play-testing on.
Enjoy!
Sincerely, Istari

Fun Fun Fun! this would have to be the best RPG scenario I have seen to this date. More to my surprise this scenario is based on the book! you wouldn't think that this is so good until you realise that having it based off a book limits you and your creativity. It combines a great RPG concept (like levelling up, side quests and freedom) along side with a Book. Very hard to do, but you have made it look simple.
Balance: 5
It's superb, not too hard, not to easy, even if a newer player tried to play it, they wouldn't find it to hard ethier with 'real' and 'simple' modes. it is the perfect way to make sure that everyone enjoys the most of your scenario.
Creativity: 5
Beautifully thought of coming up of a swamp, goblins, eagles and much more in AoM villina. Might I add that you did those with style and had lots of eyecandy. Very hard to do but still you over came those obstacles.
Map Design: 5
Really good, having a map so detailed but wanting good gameplay with still being so close to a book must have been exceptionally hard to do. It might have been 20 seconds to load on my computer, but it was well worth it and such a good game should not be marked down for such a small thing.
Story/Instructions: 4
Good having things from the text and good cinematics was a very good additional bonus. the instructions were effective in most cases, like all the side quest, and in most "were to go next" objectives, but what to do with Beorn and trying to find him threw me in circles, also when I was unloaded from the transport the message heading came up "you must load back into the transport to continue your mission" so I reloaded in after reading that message, thus leaving a whole town out my quest. Apart from those 2 the other 100 were great!
Additional Comments:
This must have been and enormous project to finish and to do it with out TT expansion this would have been a hard map to make

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE TRIGGER CHANGE NAME?
Also, AoM Fault! "You found Copper armour" that was bronze. BRONZE DOES NOT WORK ON HEROS. I did not enjoy that game much.[Edited on 06/05/07 @ 10:12 AM]
