The Labours of Hercules

Author File Description
File Details
Version: AoM: The Titans
I know about three Hercules scenarios have been released in the past couple of months, but I have been working on this one for at least three months, at which time I hadn't seen one yet so please do not accuse me of taking other people's ideas and don't make the assumption that this one will be like the others.

While Hercules, son of Zeus, is sleeping one night, Hera enters his dreams and confuses him, mingling with his mind. Hercules awakens and heads towards his wife and sons, killing them with a blow from his club.
Hercules immediately awakens from his trance, weeping over his dead family. He asks the sun god, Apollo for guidance and Apollo tells him that he must serve King Eurytheus for 12 years as punishment.

King Eurytheus demands Hercules complete a number of impossible tasks, but for Hercules they may not be so impossible...

=504 x 504 map size
=12 tasks, with unique ways to be accomplished
=Priests and healing spots along the way so Hercules can bathe his wounds
=Three mini-cinematics throughout the scenario
=Story adapted slightly with extra bits and pieces to keep the player interested
=Approximately an hour of gameplay
=A side quest which, on completion, rewards the player with more speed so the map can be crossed more quickly

Thanks for downloading and any comments/reviews would be greatly appreciated! =)

dr nefarious I've yet to see a good LotR map...

Making up your own story is creative, copying someone else's is not. But the main reason why I think the scenario is not very creative is because all 12 tasks are almost the same.

3 is not bad, it's average.
EazY_Ben Using a un-original sotry is creative in the way that you interprit it to a scenario.

Dr Nefarius, maybe you should start designing yourself and be less critical. These designers spend months on their projects, improving them, maknig them better. They put their guts into it, trying to make them as good as possible. Then someone like you comes along, and critiscises, sometimes unfairly, the hell out of it, and lowering its rating considerebly.
The way present your reviews is often quite insutling for the designer.

It seems that all the reviews you have posted have been with a bad taste in your mouth-it seems like you are on HG for the sole purpose of lowering the rating of peoples scenarios.
I hope that when you post your 3.0 reviews, you take into account that you are ruining the designers dreams for that scenario, you are ruining its chances of doing well and you are generally discouraging them from designing and making them feel pretty wasted and unhppy: all that work for someone to ruin it all in two minutes.

I hope you understand the point i am trying to make.

Hmm, i'm not mad or anything, I see both sides of this- Dr Nefarius is entitled to his opinion and can give whatever rating he likes as long as it is considered a good review by the mods. But also, I agree with Eazy Ben that you should try making your own map and see how hard it is :P
Student of War There are a lot of downloads for such an allegidly crappy experience. I have verified all of your comments on this an at least they are accurate unlike some reviewers "cough"The Bard"cough"

I was making another scenario but I won't bother anymore- I thought my Labours Of Hercules scenario was good :(
dr nefarious Wrong approach. Come back and make a better one, that's what learning is all about.

Your 'Labours' are not bad, but they are not in one league with stuff from people like Oscar or Istari yet.
