AoM |
Something wasn’t right. They felt it for quite a while. Sure, the world looked absolutely normal. Birds were singing. Trees were standing there being green and stuff. Eye candy was lying on the ground, ridiculously plentiful and totally covering the grass and making eyes bleed and computers explode, like any respectable AoM eye candy does. Yet there was this strange feeling on emptiness... Then, one day, sitting in a tavern, our heroes Arkantos and Ajax finally realised.
Some bastard stole the point of scenario of which they were main characters!
And so began the epic story of bravery, heroism, and explicit idiocy. Will they find the point of scenario? Will they slash their way through dozens of random encounters? What does the strange old man want? And will our heroes survive the worst ambush in military history?
Having nothing better to do during the summer, I decided to mess with the AoM editor for a while. And so it all begun. The result of this work, "No Point", the only satirical scenario I know of, is now avaliable for download.
"No Point" features:
Over 14 minutes of cinematics;
Around 295 triggers;
An actual challenge. Not like, go down the road and kill random MU;
Multiple custom sounds;
Use of animations, icons, music, sounds, and other nifty things that make it look... er, nifty;
Many amazing and original quests [braaaaaaaag];
"No Point" does not feature:
Logical plotline
“The plot is brilliant. (...) this scenario is GOOD. As in GOOD GOOD.” – Happy Playtester.
Have fun.
UPDATE November 7: Fixed the transportation bug, added some minor corrections. Overall nothing you would notice :P |

Okay, I fixed the bug myself and played it till you got to the capital or something.
It's hilarious!
For those of you who haven't finished, it doesn't start getting funny until you at least past the transport part. LOL
I'll give you a review when I finish the scenario. |

When you get past the "ambush" scene and toward the capital, try clicking on people and signs. You'll understand what's going on that way.
Just a hint. |

I have played a bit more of your No point and
I agree it is worth a 4.8. I had to restart
A couple of times. 5 months of work is impressive! Sorry about commenting on the 1's
I didn't realise they were part of the humour!
Oh and about the zebra shop, it must have been something else that stopped it transporting Ajax and Arkantos across the river. When I restarted it the Kraken trigger worked and the boulders weren't there either. Wierd. The first time I played it the boulders were there,the second time I played it everything works!. I still think it unfair that if there's bugs in it, it should be given a five. A 5.0 means perfect. Sorry about my 3.6 rating .It really is better than I thought.I suspected Skycat and T fox are your buddies because they gave you a 5.0 but now as evryones giving you a 5.0 and I've played more of your game it is worth more than a 3.6
No point is good!!!1!1. Also, when is the next one coming out. I have to admit it is GOOD
the going inside the tavern is cool!!!11!!1. You see I have humour too!!But I agree with dr nefarious if you strip away the jokes it is worth a 3.4 but I have to admit it is good
PS I will review it when I have compleated it all!!11!

Note that you could cut the size of the archive in half if you'd just use the existing soundfiles instead of recording them and then adding them again. People without broadband access would be grateful... |

Yeah I'm curious why you used records. Do you not know there's a list of all sounds in the game?
BTW, LOL about the capital with that villager hanging over the edge trying to impress people. |

I've been looking for the list for a while, not hard enough it seems... well, another thing to get fixed in ver 1.1
The updated version will be ready when I manage to find a break among all the homework and assignments.
nefarious, I'll pass over the fact that your balance/playability experience seems to be almost exactly opposite to the rest of the world... but seriously, stop posting around with accusations you dreamt up. I find it very offensive and annoying to be called a cheater just because this scenario got good reviews. Change your attitude and learn to have half a bit of respect for others and their work, man. You will succesfully make the world a better place.
That being said, this is not a good place for arguments. If mods find a review biased or incorrect, they'll delete it. End story. |
