Before I start I would like to state that I DID get the right file from Mistress Hekate. Scenario with Valkyries some Amazon getting sacraficed and a snowy forest. Although this does not save it from being subpar.
Well you basically got a bunch valkyries and your whole objective is to go straight through a random dense forest, over a river, and kill a bunch of Amazons. Not much else to say really. If you go one way you fight Circe and 2 Chimeras and the other leads to the Amazon place. That's it, end of story. I think there is supposed to a be a plot, but I can't see anything here. Nothing exciting but killing a bunch of "Amazons."
Well at first glance it seems that you can lose as you fight face-to-face with Greek heroes. But a quick check reveals your Valkyries have 42 hack attack and around 770 HP. They also heal incredibly quickly. Even though there seems to be a main character, losing her has no negative effect. The only way to lose is to lose all your Valkyries.
As for the opposition, they can be taken down easily despite composing mainly of heroes. You have some Atalantas and some Hippolytas. There's some enemy Valkyries too and Circe is also present. You can finish them off easily enough with your super Valkyries.
Nothing new here. Go in a straight line through a forest and smash an enemy base with idle troops is boring and unoriginal. Unless it was refined to a high quality of gameplay, map design, and story it would always be bad. Alas this scenario is not that and nothing of interest is here, period. No twists, no impressive eyecandy, no begining cinematic, no real story.
Map Design: 1
The map is completly horrid. Everything is covered in Snowy Pines and a thin pathway is all there is. There is no terrain mixing, no eyecandy structures or anything eyecandy like. The only thing even worth mentioning is the river crossing and the pool in the Amazon base. But even that is boring. The elevation is the generated elevation made when creating a new map. The Amazon base consists of nothing interesting but a gold mine, some houses, a temple, and a pool with Gaias trees around them.
The only saving grace this has is instructions for what to do. Otherwise there is very little backstory for this. The Amazon invasion is not explained, the Valkyrie leader has no backstory, and no development of story exists. Just a "They're bad so kill them" type of story.
I'd highly advise Mistress_Hekate read the scenario design libary and guides there before attempting to do another scenario. This one lacks any ommph and has much, much, room for improvement. If you need help, ask in the Scenario Design Forums. Read the Scenario Design FAQ and organize your triggers more.
