AoM: The Titans |
These are 'new ' maps, simple transformations of some standard AOM maps into the sudden death format. These are not meant to be a creative masterpiece, but are just for fun. My gaming friends like these, so I am releasing these for general use. There are 2 groups - one for vanilla AOM, one for TT; there is also a Sudden Death Random set for each version. Each of these maps starts players with a Citadel Center plus 4 tents, for a maximum pop of 170 like in Sudden Death. The same SD victory conditions apply. There are no extra settlements on these maps. Note that the player placement is more standard, the players are arranged in the usual manner for each map rather than the linear player setup in the actual Sudden Death map.
For the Xpack version, all of the maps in the fast random set are converted to the SD game type (Alfheim, Anatolia, Ghost Lake, Highland, Marsh, Mediterranean, Midgard, Oasis, Savannah, Tundra and Watering Hole), plus Jotunheim. For the Sudden Death Random set, all of the above plus the standard ES Sudden Death map are included.
For the basic AOM version, all of the maps in the fast random set have been converted to the SD game type (Alfheim, Anatolia, Ghost Lake, Mediterranean, Midgard, Oasis, Savannah, and Watering Hole), plus Jotunheim. For the Sudden Death Random set, all of the above plus the standard ES Sudden Death map are included.
Hope you enjoy these as much as my friends and I have. |

Sudden Death is my favorite flavor of Titans. I will definitely try this out. Delighted to find this hidden gem amongst the rest of the maps. |

I have been using these Sudden Death random maps for a few days now, and they are GREAT! One of the annoying facets of Age of Mythology for me has been the need to start new cities all over the map. I prefer concentrating on one city. Of course that does limit the favor generation for Titans Civs, but that can be regarded as a handicap, increasing the difficulty. |
