divine maul

Author File Description

Version: AoM: The Titans
This is just a simple scenario where you "destroy". Your guy has to save his village from a huge city that threatens you with ancient creatures. You pick up a divine maul and have to kill off your enemy. Sounds pretty simple right? The word "maul" came from the name of the weapon. (big two-handed hammer) Hope you like it!

Pretty bad. There was nothing to do but kill bad guys.

Balance: 1
There is absolutely no balance to this. I mean, you have something like 702 attack. I didnt even get hurt. I killed everything in one hit.

Creativity: 2
I like the idea of a diving maul but it is so badly executed in this that it kind of kills it off.
Map Design: 1
There was nothing. Just grass A and some greek road. I mean, your village puts egyptians inside of wall of troy, which clashes, and for the enemies, it puts Hades inside of wall of troy, which looks even worse, and puts greek, norse, and egyptian together in one area. It clashes horribly.

Story/Instructions: 2
Clear instructions, but not exactly a lot to explain either. You are now invincible, go kill the bad guys.

Additional Comments:
Pretty bad. I suggest you work on it more and then re post it.

It's playable only once, because of the superhero that the player has -who's super strong.
You didn't include AI for the comp players, so the friends and the baddies camps just kept inactive.

Balance: 2
The Hersir Hero with the "Divine Maul" is just too strong. I walked over to the enemy camp and just took out all the units and the Titan, and then demolished the buildings no problem.

Creativity: 3
OK the story was average based on the concept of Divine Maul.

Map Design: 2
You've set up 2 camps, placed down uber walls to fortify them and made a special place for the Hersir to take the divine maul and that's about it. You did very little work on making the terrain appealing (it was mostly grass A), no intricate buildings, etc.
If you'd devoted some time, you could've made the map more appealing.

Story/Instructions: 2
Instructions were basic, nothing great.

Additional Comments:
I think you didn't put much work on it, just a couple of hours. You could DL Reyk's editor and place down various mixed terrain, then make multistory variable buildings using terrain spikes and then add various magic type effects, that is if you want to put some work on a scenario to make it worth while.
I mean to help by this review and not put you down, OK?

The scenario was fully playable, to say the least, but you basically just went around killing men in one hit.

Balance: 1
Your unit does not get hurt at all, he kills everything in one hit and meets no challenge at all.

Creativity: 1
Interesting concept of the maul, but badly played out, scenarios where you have a extremely powerful guy killing hordes of enemies has never been done well, and this is no exeption.

Map Design: 1
No display of blending, elevation and embellishments at all, just GrassA and a GreekRoadA. The choice of buildings and walls clashes horribly, with Egyptian Buildings and Walls of Troy as an example.

Story/Instructions: 1
The instructions have been made well clear; "go around kill bad guys, you are invincible.". There is no storyline, which is generally neccesary for a successful single player scenario, and there is not much to explain either.

Additional Comments:
A horrible display, but a good attempt. This is the stage many people start at, so don't feel bad, you'll improve. Go to the Scenario Design Library and read guides to improve.
