Tactics of War is a blood game created by Jakwarrior and Vo1ture. With its strategic features and enjoyable gameplay, it is sure to bring you a great game everytime you play it.
In Tactics of War, you start with your main General unit, He is your best and most powerful unit, He can capture special locations which will generate an income of wood.
Wood is used to buy units. With your units and general, you can collect goats on the map and send them to your sacrifice pit for 20 food. You can buy godpowers with your food.
You can also buy expensive villagers, which are used to mine gold. Gold is used to buy upgrades for your units and hero.
Your miners must travel to reach a gold mine, and travel back again to your base to deposit their gold. This leaves them open to ambush, so protect them at all times, as they are the most exspensive unit in the game!
There are relics scattered about the map. They all have special powers. some heal your units, while others recruit deadly giants to your army, while even others grant you god powers.

Well, over 1000 downloads, But damn, who's playing it online? i never see it hosted ever!
Might give you a clue that no matter how much downloads you get, it doesnt change how dissapointed people are.
I Firstly downloaded this and tested it, Yes nice intro and that and brilliant idea, Just dont you think these games are made for Planetside (www.planetside.com) or First person RPG games?
The problem i found - It looks average, the map isnt a wow factor and its simelar to the Underground on fire, just it doesnt have enough triggers by far.
It also dissapoints because you would of thought that 2 of the claimed "Best" map makers came up with this.
Poor show vo1ture, maybe u can comment on the faults on my upcoming map.
Other than that, i praise you for the hard work you have done. and i would love to see you outta AS and onto a own Individual Map carear like Xamolxis or Irk89.
I give you this blessing : May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows your dead!

1 review? Whaaaat?
Playability: 5
Tactics of War is one of those scenarios that never gets old. It's simple and tactical gameplay provide for hours and hours of fun. Rarely do you encounter extreme lag, the objectives and intructions are clear, and I have not once found any sort of a bug whilst playing this map.
This is definetly one of, if not the funnest tactical blood on offer; it's sad that I don't see this hosted on ESO as much as it truly deserves.
Balance: 4
The balance is almost floorless. Each player begins on equal terms; even with various god bonuses, you can't really start with a lead that affects the outcome of the game. The nod positions are well thought-out in terms of distance between them and each player, but still manages not to make the map look semetrical. Relics and goats are randomly spawned, so there is no fault there either.
The only issue that aroused with this map (and caused a point off this score) was the "slippery slop". Once one player gains a large lead, it is very, very difficult for the other players to gain any ground. A pop cap would have been a great addition to this scenario; it is still incredibly fun without it though.
Creativity: 4
With "Bloods" becoming a increasingly mediocre genre within ESO, this scenario brought a beautiful breath of fresh air. The nods were a great addition of gaining units instead of the typical kill counter, the goats limited the use of god powers but if used affectively could alter the games outcome, and the relics were a very nice little feature to add. Winning by killing the other player's General was a new page in the book of bloods, and a nice one at that.
Although all these features are new to the genre, they aren't knew to others; you knitted them together well though and were able to create a seemingly entirely new scenario; good job!
Map Design: 4
The map design itself is very beautiful. Long flowing rivers cross the marshy, rocky map, provided by a magnificent waterfall that crashes down near the corner. The terrain mixing was very well done, with lots of different terrains used, and the emballishment was frequent with grasses, bushes, rocks and sprites all over the place.
I love this kind of map design, but I didn't see anything that really stood out. There was no epic piece of eyecandy to be seen, and that disappointed me somewhat. Still, a very solid map.
Story/Instructions: 5
The first thing you are greeted with on beginning this scenario is an option to delete your old man; if every player has deleted their old man, the introductory cinematic will not be played. I thought this was a very nice feature to add, and provided for all players, new and experienced.
The cinematic itself was awesome. Each camera track was tied together; it would stop to explain something thoroughly, then continue from the same frame. With the great sound effects and interesting music from the cinematic sound files, I could sit through this introduction multiple times.
Not once did I wonder what to do the first time I played this scenario, due to the very thorough cinematic at the beginning. Amazing!
Additional Comments:
Although this scenario is quite old, and Vo1ture doesn't even design anymore, I thought I owed this map a review. It is especially fun when played with friends - I play this map with Jakwarrior himself frequently - and I guarentee that anyone who plays this will be in for a pleasent suprise.
Hopefully this review promotes Tactics of War nicely, as it deserves it![Edited on 01/06/07 @ 12:02 AM]
