Winner of 'Best Campaign' January 2007
Winner of 'Best Modpack' January 2007

The Modders and Mappers of the Liquid Fire Studios: Legends of the Third Age Team Proudly Present....

For over 2 years, the Legends of the Third Age team have been working to re-create the first installment of Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings trilogy in AoM. In this long-awaited campaign, the player follows the adventures of the nine members of the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the One Ring. The scenarios are made to the highest quality by some of the best designers in the community, and will lead the player from the sweeping rural hills of the Shire to the deepest depths of Moria to the wooded ruins of Amon Hen. Complex map design and amazing eye candy will keep gamers coming back simply to watch the brilliantly created cinematics. Even more fantastic is the completely original soundtrack created by a true genius at his craft. From Rivendell to Mordor, Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring brings Middle-Earth alive like never before.

Aside from the excellent scenarios, The Fellowship of the Ring boasts what may be the largest and most expansive modpack in Age of Mythology history. Each weapon is authentic, and gamers will feel the fires of the Balrog and hear the crack of Gimli's axe. Each face of each hero is authentic and detailed, as is every structure in the many exotic Middle-Earth locales. The mods were made by legends in the Age of Mythology community, and the quality does show.

The Fellowship of the Ring has features such as:

- The world of J.R.R tolkein created in AoM for the first time!
- 12 beautiful maps, pain-stakingly made to the finest quality by some of the best Age of Mythology mappers out there.
- The largest and most detailed modpack ever created in AoM!
- Original and never before seen game play.
- Extensive and professional sound track.

Big thanks to Ykkrosh for creating the BAR loading mod, of which this project makes extensive use of.

**This project is dedicated to the late, great Flipbizcut (1979-2005).**

When installing, you extract the extractor to your AOM INSTALL FOLDER,
not the folder you downloaded the file to.
Your AoM install folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\.
It is NOT My Documents\My Games\Age of Mythology.
If you extracted incorrectly, and re-extracted, you must run the
lta.exe inside the AoM folder, NOT the one created from the
Please do not pester us about something not working if you did not
extract to the AOM INSTALL FOLDER.
If you are getting an error about rockalldll.dll, you have not
extracted it properly.

Guardian Of Isis YAY! Thanks, antisback. *bows*
RiderOfEternity ==
The stamina system is an old idea but, i like the idea of gaining food from an apple tree, which i assume was a mod?
Hehe I suggested the stamina system to GOI ;) I also suggested a running system using favor as the counter for "Energy" (how long you can run) but alas his english was too poor to understand :P Or we didn't get time to implement it. Maybe we should do it for the patch of Extended Edition (EE).

Btw what does everyone think about the music MscMixer created and also the menu background that I and GOI created?

PS: I just noticed there are no audio credits in the writeup!

antisback The music was good, btw whoever created the white tree mod deserves a medal, it looks amazing ;) (*cough* me)
The God of Gods @Rider: I understood it, but didn't think it'd be worth implementing.
The Guarding One Help People!

I "installed" the campaign, a.k.a. extracted all of the files, and I cannot find the supposed "lta.exe" in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology.

Where is this?

Also: Are there any instructions into uninstalling the campaign and mods, etc, should the need arise?
Guardian Of Isis Dnas will answer your last question.

About the "lta.exe": I'm not sure that's the exact filename. It's an exe, but I think it's called "aomxmod.exe". Dnas? ;-)
The Guarding One Crisis averted people!

I just extracted all of the files to a random My Documents folder!

I hope it works now..... and any info on uninstalling, DNA?
RiderOfEternity LOL yes you are silly :p

To uninstall just delete the files and move your original files back if you had to back any up.
Dnas It's lta.exe. It was originally aomxmod.exe but Rider renamed it.

If you extracted to the wrong place, delete the files extracted and extract to the right place.

If you don't see the lta.exe in the AoM folder you did not extract it right. Be sure to give the extractor your AoM directory.

I repeat.

Everyone seems to be having problems with that.

(While I'm at it, I'm Dnas not DNA.)

@Auron: My website? That ancient thing? Ok... if you wish... http://dnas.outer-heaven.net ...kinda dead. (Oh, btw, http://aomf.outer-heaven.net )

(Games on Linux: (btw, it's Linux, not Lunix). Personally, I find that the complete lack of productivity and sheer uselessness of a Windows machine in comparision and the fact that Linux is free completely outweighs that lack of commericial games. There still are plenty of excellent open source games for Linux, and the WINE (kind of a Windows emulator of sorts, but done in a way that runs at near-native speeds. Sometimes faster because of Linux's superior disk i/o speeds.) project is getting better and better constantly. I ran AoK with it nearly flawlessly.)
