*****AWARDS*****

Winner of 'Best Campaign' January 2007
Winner of 'Best Modpack' January 2007

The Modders and Mappers of the Liquid Fire Studios: Legends of the Third Age Team Proudly Present....

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING

For over 2 years, the Legends of the Third Age team have been working to re-create the first installment of Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings trilogy in AoM. In this long-awaited campaign, the player follows the adventures of the nine members of the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the One Ring. The scenarios are made to the highest quality by some of the best designers in the community, and will lead the player from the sweeping rural hills of the Shire to the deepest depths of Moria to the wooded ruins of Amon Hen. Complex map design and amazing eye candy will keep gamers coming back simply to watch the brilliantly created cinematics. Even more fantastic is the completely original soundtrack created by a true genius at his craft. From Rivendell to Mordor, Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring brings Middle-Earth alive like never before.

Aside from the excellent scenarios, The Fellowship of the Ring boasts what may be the largest and most expansive modpack in Age of Mythology history. Each weapon is authentic, and gamers will feel the fires of the Balrog and hear the crack of Gimli's axe. Each face of each hero is authentic and detailed, as is every structure in the many exotic Middle-Earth locales. The mods were made by legends in the Age of Mythology community, and the quality does show.

The Fellowship of the Ring has features such as:

- The world of J.R.R tolkein created in AoM for the first time!
- 12 beautiful maps, pain-stakingly made to the finest quality by some of the best Age of Mythology mappers out there.
- The largest and most detailed modpack ever created in AoM!
- Original and never before seen game play.
- Extensive and professional sound track.

**This project is dedicated to the late, great Flipbizcut (1979-2005).**

===IMPORTANT===
When installing, you extract the extractor to your AOM INSTALL FOLDER,
not the folder you downloaded the file to.
Your AoM install folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\.
It is NOT My Documents\My Games\Age of Mythology.
If you extracted incorrectly, and re-extracted, you must run the
lta.exe inside the AoM folder, NOT the one created from the
mis-extraction.
Please do not pester us about something not working if you did not
extract to the AOM INSTALL FOLDER.
If you are getting an error about rockalldll.dll, you have not
extracted it properly.

First of all, I would like to congratulate Liquid Fire Studios, and the rest of the LTA team. You guys did a great job. And, I will definitely be looking forward to the Twin Towers, maybe even try to join the designers or modders list.

Playability: 5
The playability was very nice. All of the scenarios were extremely fun and the cinematics were exciting and smooth. Good job on the playability, it's definitely one of my favorite campaigns.

Balance: 4
For the most part, the balance was good. In some parts, the game was too easy. And, in other parts, the game was too hard. But, in most of the scenarios the balance was nice and even. Nice job, I know how much playtesting it takes to get the balance pretty nice.

I'll give you a 5 since most of the scenarios' balance was great.

Creativity: 5
Well, this isn't just another Lord of the Rings map. This is fantastic. The scenario had a lot of creative parts and your portrayed LoTR wonderfully. The mods were terrific. I don't know how you're going to top those mods for The Two Towers now that our beloved FlipBizcut has passed away. But on a happier note, good job. You definitely deserve a 5 in this category!

Map Design: 5
The eyecandy is brilliant! I especially like Rivendell. In some areas you could've added a bit more detail or taken off the rock borders along the paths. But, for the most part, the eyecandy is top notch. And Moria was amazing! Awesome work on the map guys! Perfecto!

Story/Instructions: 4
I have to dock a point off for the story and instructions. Because, I generally hate Lord of the Rings (except this campaign :p) so when the riddle statue asked me where Saruman's home was, I had no clue. I just guessed Mordor because that's one of the only places I knew. So, I had to do a google search to find out the answer. When I was playing, I had no clue who Saruman was either. I guess he was the evil wizard guy, but I wasn't following all the details between the evil wizard and Gandalf. Or, it might be that I get Saruman and Sauron confused. So, it might be me, and it might be the campaign, I don't know. But, the same thing happened with the question 'Who is the father of 'Balin?'. Also, the ring wraiths riddle made absolutely no sense to me. I had to look in the editor to find the answer. The rest of the story and instructions were explained very nicely. I might suggest straying a little more away from the movies. It seemed to me that you were trying to make it just like the movie. Some of the scenes worked out greatly, but others wern't so nice. For example, I think the fight with the Watcher beast could've been left out. Especially since that didn't work for me when I tried using the 'Pandoras Box' cheat earlier in the game :p

Additional Comments:
Great work guys! Keep it up.
And next time, maybe try not to use the Message trigger.

Regards,
Pepsidude

pEpsIdUDe_123 I'm sorry my review took so long GuardianOFIsis :p

Macke93, although we appreciate your review, you must have an explanation of at least 3 lines in each catagory! If you have any suggestions of ways in which we could improve the campaign, then by all means let us know and put them into your review :)
Guardian Of Isis @PepsiDude123: Thank you for your review!! Although, most of the mods were made by Dnas, not FlipBizcut. In fact, I think he only made the Balrog. I think many people make the mistake of thinking Flip did most of the work. He was going to work on new trolls and such, but he's probably modding in heaven right about now. :-)

Anyway, I like the comments you've given and I'll make future riddles a tad easier.

*SPOILER*
But don't tell me you couldn't have guessed the Ringwraiths riddle. The Statue even said something like: "Chat the answer. A hint: There are 26 squares. 26 of something..." Well, you have to chat the answer and what collection has 26 items? The alphabet of course! It just requires a little thinking. I also added a few extra letters to the riddle to make it easier to spot.
RiderOfEternity I would hug and kiss and make lo-..
Er.. I mean, give everyone a manly handshake, to everyone who downloaded and rated :)
pEpsIdUDe_123 @ GoI -
But, wasn't the answer to the riddle RingWraiths or something? Because I know I typed in letters and it didn't work.
Guardian Of Isis Strange. Try typing "ringwraiths" without capitals. Though I even tried typing "RiNgWrAiThS" and it worked.
pEpsIdUDe_123 No, I meant I tried typing in the word 'letters'.

As, you said in your quote:

------------------------------

Yes, there are 26 of something. 26 letters in the alphabet. So, shouldn't the answer be 'letters'.

I don't really get how it ties into 'RingWraiths'
Guardian Of Isis Ok then, let me explain:

*SPOILERS*
Each square represents a letter (since there are 26 squares). The number on a square represents the place of that letter in the word. F.e. If you count the squares starting from the one in the upper corner, you'll see that the number 1 is on the 18th square. The 18th letter of the alphabet is the letter 'R'. So, the first letter in the word (< the number 1) is the 18th letter (or square).
The first square (or the first letter of the alphabet) has the number 7; meaning that the seventh letter of the word is an 'A'. Form the bits together (note that 1=6 and 2=8) and you'll eventually get the word "ringwraiths".

Fine, fine, I'll go easy on the riddles in the future. ;-)
