The Modders and Mappers of the Liquid Fire Studios: Legends of the Third Age Team Proudly Present....
THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING
For over 2 years, the Legends of the Third Age team have been working to re-create the first installment of Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings trilogy in AoM. In this long-awaited campaign, the player follows the adventures of the nine members of the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the One Ring. The scenarios are made to the highest quality by some of the best designers in the community, and will lead the player from the sweeping rural hills of the Shire to the deepest depths of Moria to the wooded ruins of Amon Hen. Complex map design and amazing eye candy will keep gamers coming back simply to watch the brilliantly created cinematics. Even more fantastic is the completely original soundtrack created by a true genius at his craft. From Rivendell to Mordor, Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring brings Middle-Earth alive like never before.
Aside from the excellent scenarios, The Fellowship of the Ring boasts what may be the largest and most expansive modpack in Age of Mythology history. Each weapon is authentic, and gamers will feel the fires of the Balrog and hear the crack of Gimli's axe. Each face of each hero is authentic and detailed, as is every structure in the many exotic Middle-Earth locales. The mods were made by legends in the Age of Mythology community, and the quality does show.
The Fellowship of the Ring has features such as:
- The world of J.R.R tolkein created in AoM for the first time!
- 12 beautiful maps, pain-stakingly made to the finest quality by some of the best Age of Mythology mappers out there.
- The largest and most detailed modpack ever created in AoM!
- Original and never before seen game play.
- Extensive and professional sound track.

Big thanks to Ykkrosh for creating the BAR loading mod, of which this project makes extensive use of.

**This project is dedicated to the late, great Flipbizcut (1979-2005).**
===IMPORTANT===
When installing, you extract the extractor to your AOM INSTALL FOLDER,
not the folder you downloaded the file to.
Your AoM install folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\.
It is NOT My Documents\My Games\Age of Mythology.
If you extracted incorrectly, and re-extracted, you must run the
lta.exe inside the AoM folder, NOT the one created from the
mis-extraction.
Please do not pester us about something not working if you did not
extract to the AOM INSTALL FOLDER.
If you are getting an error about rockalldll.dll, you have not
extracted it properly.

Please help me!!!! I admit I am not very smart when it comes to figuring out something in an rpg, I was never smart with gamecube games, xbox games, or ps2 games but I am starting to get frustrated.
This is embarrassing but here we go:
On the level where you need to setup the birthday party what do you do when the locusts come? I run around by the houses with the relic and everything but I have no idea what to do. By the way LFS the messages get some words cut off a lot in this level. |

You have to use the pesticide (Relic) and bring it to all 3 locust swarms. And I don't know if there are THAT many words cut off. :S |

Hi,
I downloaded it, and it sounds amazing.
However, after following all the instructions, I try to open the lta.exe file, and I get a message that says, "ERROR: Unable to find splash resources.'
I have a Windows XP.
Could anyone help?
Thanks,

Playability: 4
It was pretty good, but to play that campiagn, I had to change the aomxmod i had. But then it was fun and very good.
Balance: 4
The balance was very good. I would of gave it a 5 if the dogs in the first playable senerio was slower. It took me about 10 tries to beat it!
Creativity: 5
The eye candy was amazing. I had so much fun looking at it. My computer lagged a lot from the crazy amounts of eyecandy and overheated...
Map Design: 5
The map design was very good. The map looks like it was generated by hand, taking serveral days a map.
Story/Instructions: 4
I had to redo some of the areas because I could not understand part of it. On the riddle one, I had to quit and look at the triggers to beat it.
Additional Comments:
Very good! I was wondering If you could relase a version that uses low deatil. With out the bar loading mod off, so I can switch between mods when I want.
Keep up the great work.
When is the two towers going to come out?
Try not to use 13 senerios, becuase 13 is evil number.

@Marter: Thank you for your flattering review! :-D
@Dude: Those are patch units. :-P
@Jude: Damned, now that Dnas is gone, we have no problem-solver with us until around mid August. Have you read the readme carefully?
__________________________________________________________________________________
- Double-click the installer, autoextract.exe.
- When prompted, chose your AoM directory. It should be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\
- If it asks to overwrite any files, be sure to make a backup of them before allowing it, with the exception of:
-- xpacklanguage.dll - if you have not already modified this file (or installed a mod that did so), you can leave it alone. We provide a copy of the original, labelled xpacklanguage-original.dll should you need it. If you are unsure, save a backup.
- There should not be any other collisions in filenames unless if you already have installed a mod using the Bar Loading Mod. In which case, save a copy of your barlist.txt file.
- If you are one who dislikes auto-installers, choose a blank folder and manually move the files into the AoM directory.

Guardian Of Isis,
That was a atuo-installer? Are you sure?
It was a self-extracting archive.
Can you release a version without the bar-laoding mod? I would like to play it without going to age of Mythology folder in the C Drive every time. [Edited on 06/27/06 @ 06:08 PM]

It is a self-extracting archive; you only have to set it to extract to your Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology. Then it all extracts fine. And, like it says, if you don't like it installing there, just make an empty folder somewhere else and have it extract there. Then you can manually put each file in the right place (of course, if you know where to put everything).
We won't be making a low-detail version, I'm afraid; it's going to be too much work reworking a lot of our mods for that. But a high-detail version of AoM doesn't require an ultimately advanced computer, now does it?
Anyway, I don't know what you mean by your bar loading mod problem. I never got into that, as it was almost always Dnas' job. But our LTA mod only loads in the Legends of the Third Age.exe. Your own mods you can watch in the aomx.exe (the normal Titans version). A custom made version of protox, that doesn't contain our mods, will load your own mods in the normal exe. If you then open our exe, you'll find that it will have been added, but our mods will still be there. And always going to the C drive is kind of weird. :-S You can just shortcut to the exe of the LTA mod.[Edited on 06/29/06 @ 11:32 AM]
