THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING

For over 2 years, the Legends of the Third Age team have been working to re-create the first installment of Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings trilogy in AoM. In this long-awaited campaign, the player follows the adventures of the nine members of the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the One Ring. The scenarios are made to the highest quality by some of the best designers in the community, and will lead the player from the sweeping rural hills of the Shire to the deepest depths of Moria to the wooded ruins of Amon Hen. Complex map design and amazing eye candy will keep gamers coming back simply to watch the brilliantly created cinematics. Even more fantastic is the completely original soundtrack created by a true genius at his craft. From Rivendell to Mordor, Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring brings Middle-Earth alive like never before.

Aside from the excellent scenarios, The Fellowship of the Ring boasts what may be the largest and most expansive modpack in Age of Mythology history. Each weapon is authentic, and gamers will feel the fires of the Balrog and hear the crack of Gimli's axe. Each face of each hero is authentic and detailed, as is every structure in the many exotic Middle-Earth locales. The mods were made by legends in the Age of Mythology community, and the quality does show.

The Fellowship of the Ring has features such as:

- The world of J.R.R tolkein created in AoM for the first time!
- 12 beautiful maps, pain-stakingly made to the finest quality by some of the best Age of Mythology mappers out there.

===IMPORTANT===
When installing, you extract the extractor to your AOM INSTALL FOLDER,
not the folder you downloaded the file to.
Your AoM install folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\.
It is NOT My Documents\My Games\Age of Mythology.
If you extracted incorrectly,and re-extracted, you must run the
lta.exe inside the AoM folder, NOT the one created from the
mis-extraction.
Please do not pester us about something not working if you did not
extract to the AOM INSTALL FOLDER.
If you are getting an error about rockalldll.dll, you have not
extracted it properly.

Reinfire I have played the first few scenario's. I am completely stunned by the mods in this project. It is so awesome. I find it a little disappointing though how you changed the scene in the Orthanc. guards? wtf. Also I see that you guys made the same mistake in the third playable scenario as Gaurdian did with Birthright (I let you crack your brains on that one).

But the mods alone make up for these little things by far. I won't have any time to play again till next week though due to a test on Friday and KONIGINNEDAG on friday night till sunday morning. Great job guys, I will properly review it when I finished the campaign

@pepsi: My suggestion would be to simply rename them. Basically you shouldn't have a file called protox.xml/xmb in your data folder at all.

tasev it says instilization failed when it has the loading screen with Kronos having his mouth open and there is a blue bar at the bottom loading things.
Shrink Currently not keen on the awful rock borders, and the use of "Message" for chat (after scenario 1, which is an inconsistency) as I ended up missing some optional objective, didn't know what to do and couldn't press Page Up or Down to find what they'd said.
I was so stunned that you'd used Message. Seriously.

There are other problems. For example, in Scenario 1, you are given far too many units (like 6 armies' full?) and the scenario is not challenging. I just had to direct the units forward (in a straight line! not great map design there) - no micro or anything was involved.

There are other problems, but I won't go into them right now.
The mods are generally very good, if a little dark and hard to distinguish. This is particularly poignant in orc units.

Blue Dragon27 Thanks everyone for you comments. Really appreciated.

We would like more specific comments though relating to aspects of individual scenarios that you liked/disliked or things relating to the whole campaign (such as the message thing that Shrink mentioned) that you did or didn't like so we don't make the same mistakes in TT or ROTK.
Dnas Yes, please, everyone, the more comments the better!

Even as I'm typing this, I'm scanning through and jotting down every single critique that's mentioned in this comments section. We have a topic in our dev forums to keep track of all your comments plus minor issues we find for fixing in a patch or TTT or whatever.

Mention stuff you like as well, so we know to keep it and/or develop upon it for later stuff. (And because positive comments are fun! ;))

EDIT: @BlueDragon... about your first page comment... the bar file setup makes this unnecessary. AoM treats it almost as if it were it's own official campaign.

Well, actually, that WAS what happened in the books. But I'm thinking on how to put a little fight in that scen for the EE.
