Winner of 'Best Campaign' January 2007
Winner of 'Best Modpack' January 2007

The Modders and Mappers of the Liquid Fire Studios: Legends of the Third Age Team Proudly Present....

For over 2 years, the Legends of the Third Age team have been working to re-create the first installment of Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings trilogy in AoM. In this long-awaited campaign, the player follows the adventures of the nine members of the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the One Ring. The scenarios are made to the highest quality by some of the best designers in the community, and will lead the player from the sweeping rural hills of the Shire to the deepest depths of Moria to the wooded ruins of Amon Hen. Complex map design and amazing eye candy will keep gamers coming back simply to watch the brilliantly created cinematics. Even more fantastic is the completely original soundtrack created by a true genius at his craft. From Rivendell to Mordor, Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring brings Middle-Earth alive like never before.

Aside from the excellent scenarios, The Fellowship of the Ring boasts what may be the largest and most expansive modpack in Age of Mythology history. Each weapon is authentic, and gamers will feel the fires of the Balrog and hear the crack of Gimli's axe. Each face of each hero is authentic and detailed, as is every structure in the many exotic Middle-Earth locales. The mods were made by legends in the Age of Mythology community, and the quality does show.

The Fellowship of the Ring has features such as:

- The world of J.R.R tolkein created in AoM for the first time!
- 12 beautiful maps, pain-stakingly made to the finest quality by some of the best Age of Mythology mappers out there.
- The largest and most detailed modpack ever created in AoM!
- Original and never before seen game play.
- Extensive and professional sound track.

Big thanks to Ykkrosh for creating the BAR loading mod, of which this project makes extensive use of.

Gaurdian_112 I understand guys. Just calm down everyone.

@Tiber Septim: We appreciate your views. We hope you can take some time to consider your 2.8 rating- and to weigh into consideration the quality of a 2.8 scenario. Is LTA REALLY that bad?
Guardian Of Isis Woooot. We have 2.8 reviews! Cheers to all. We made it!

So many things to improve on for EE :)

king movert 2.8 is really harsh i mean like he said if you compare a previous 2.8 scenario to this they arent similar in any way

also about what he said of the dog and locust i got past those easily first try you must have been doing something wrong.

but... i did cheat on scenario 5 lol when i had to figur out the riddle o well i suck at it.
Sandro The Wicke Oh come on everyone, this might not be as good as everyone had expected, but I can guarantee you, everyone improves, and plus, in future additions, some scens would be made by great designers such as Oscar!

So if you feel let down by this, don't think the entire project is just a rip-off, because it isn't ;)...

*awaits more review eagerly*
Tiber Septim I know my 2.8 review might not have pleased you. But, I was just speaking the truth. If you'd have put it in the modding section of the download section (as you yourself said it was based on mods), it would have scored a 4.0 at least from me, but I was judging by the fact that you put it in Campaigns, that you wanted reviews on that. The standards of scenarios rise, and the gamers go with it. High reviews are only granted to scenarios that appeal highly to the players of this modern age.
Gaurdian_112 Alright Tiber, thank you for the review! Hopefully you'll enjoy the next one. Please try to review your review (heh?) incase you feel you went too low on aything. Otherwise, it is your choice.
Dnas Regarding the placement of this: First of all, KJ put it up, not us... we couldn't upload such a big file on our own. (It's under EaZy's name because KJ changed the ownership of the file for us.)

We could have separated the modpack and the campaign, but it's more of a nuisance for downloaders and more error-prone with installation.

As it stands, the scenario section is far more sensible as it allows for much more metadata and separate categories in reviews.

LTA is _both_ the modpack and the campaign. Both are equal parts of the project. Please keep this in mind in future reviews, etc.

Shrink Tiber Septim's review is terrible and should be immediately removed. While it is possible to argue the numbers he puts forward, he DOESN'T argue in favour of those numbers. His writing sounds more like a 4.0 review, and I'd even be inclined to believe he thought 1 was highest and 5 the lowest when choosing numbers.
