The Modders and Mappers of the Liquid Fire Studios: Legends of the Third Age Team Proudly Present....
THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING
For over 2 years, the Legends of the Third Age team have been working to re-create the first installment of Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings trilogy in AoM. In this long-awaited campaign, the player follows the adventures of the nine members of the Fellowship in their quest to destroy the One Ring. The scenarios are made to the highest quality by some of the best designers in the community, and will lead the player from the sweeping rural hills of the Shire to the deepest depths of Moria to the wooded ruins of Amon Hen. Complex map design and amazing eye candy will keep gamers coming back simply to watch the brilliantly created cinematics. Even more fantastic is the completely original soundtrack created by a true genius at his craft. From Rivendell to Mordor, Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring brings Middle-Earth alive like never before.
Aside from the excellent scenarios, The Fellowship of the Ring boasts what may be the largest and most expansive modpack in Age of Mythology history. Each weapon is authentic, and gamers will feel the fires of the Balrog and hear the crack of Gimli's axe. Each face of each hero is authentic and detailed, as is every structure in the many exotic Middle-Earth locales. The mods were made by legends in the Age of Mythology community, and the quality does show.
The Fellowship of the Ring has features such as:
- The world of J.R.R tolkein created in AoM for the first time!
- 12 beautiful maps, pain-stakingly made to the finest quality by some of the best Age of Mythology mappers out there.
- The largest and most detailed modpack ever created in AoM!
- Original and never before seen game play.
- Extensive and professional sound track.

===IMPORTANT===
When installing, you extract the extractor to your AOM INSTALL FOLDER,
not the folder you downloaded the file to.
Your AoM install folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\.
It is NOT My Documents\My Games\Age of Mythology.
If you extracted incorrectly, and re-extracted, you must run the
lta.exe inside the AoM folder, NOT the one created from the
mis-extraction.
Please do not pester us about something not working if you did not
extract to the AOM INSTALL FOLDER.
If you are getting an error about rockalldll.dll, you have not
extracted it properly.

Additional Comments:
I just finished the campaign it was great as i sad before the reason i give 4 to the story/instruction is about the instruction for the chating passwords there was someone like ringwraiths that was difficult to find out i think it needed some more info and to others also for me to find ther i had to load the scenario in editor so for someone else it was difficult to find out the passwords and about the story its great (5). Ayway i think for the others 2 camp we need to wait about 4yrs for both of them :p since the 1st one took 2yrs. At least, can you tell us all the(approximately) % complete for the 2nd campaign The Two Towers ? |

Playability: 4
it was well put together but some bits where a bit to easy or hard for instencein the breaking of the fellowship it took me ages trying to figure out how to kill the troll and infact gimli legolas and aragorn could defeat the troll
Balance: 3
im rating this 3 because it wasnt very well balanced the units were to strong and again in the breaking of the fellowship killing all the bad balanced uruks was quite hard without waiting ages after defeating them for your units to heal themselves though it did make it challenging
Creativity: 5
i am not rating this 5 because its a completely original idea and storyline or because your the first group to try this wich you are not but because you did it in your own creative way you included bits that werent in the movie or the book to make it interesting like in escape from the shire where you have to get out of the maze while being the dryad wich was not in the movie and certainly not the book.
Map Design: 4
it was a beutiful map design but i would rate it five however there were some inperfections like the aom units eg. brokk the dryad eiteri and lion statues though they did add to the beuty you could have bean more more book/movie exsentric though the map was beutiful.
Story/Instructions: 3
i give you a 3 here because though they did help they were quite brief and you could of bean more specific like in the bit where it says click the river shrine when you get to it in the breaking of the fellowship i thought at first that to open the chest you had to type the message and it would open where i was wrong but please try and add more detail here.
Additional Comments: I apologise for any misspelt words or bad grammer and for my preveous reveiw i recomend this to anybody who likes lotr but prefeably if youve read the books and watched the movies. i cant wait till the two towers i am count ing down on my desktop i hope its as splendid as this one

I Just registered today although I've downloaded things from here before so i hope this reviews good (I Read guidelines :P)
Playability: 5
The campaign was a very playable due to easy to understand instructions, well-thought out maps and very good mods, it was an excellent campaign-mod to not only play, but look at as well. I myself had alot of fun playing it
Balance: 4
I'm giving balance a 4 here because some of the scenarios were a little too hard. Being challenging is fine and good, but not so much where that some people have to cheat to keep on going in the scenario. I kept on getting killed by the dog in the shire scenario. Eventually figured out it was quite easy :P
Creativity: 5
I'm gonna go ahead and give creativity a 5 because although Lord of the rings is a series of books, nobody has ever thought to make a whole campaign out of them. Thus, you're the only ones to make this into a fully fledged campaign (as far as I know) Congrats!
Map Design: 5
What can I say here? the map design was stunning. I couldn't even come CLOSE to getting something that detailed. The first scenario may have been a bit plain, but thats in comparison. It's quite amazing what a dedicated team of designers can pull off.
Story/Instructions: 5
The story is of course excellent but there's no need to mention that- anybody who's read Lotr will know. The instructions are also quite clear. I was never stuck as to what i had to do, just stuck on how to do it. XP
Additional Comments:
This is the biggest project I've seen people try to pull off, and so far you've been succesful. Again- Well done!

The playability was great!althought before the patch was out coz i downloaded this when it first came out.but theplayability was good..it made me fell like i was in the body of aragon(i might have misspelled)and fighting the orcs!
Balance: 4
eehh...the balance was good...but in moria the archers wuold kill u..and if u do want a challage in the begining scienro(i know i missspelled)then do it on titan..and on the rivendell level I couldn't move to the place i needed to go to..so this get's a 4.
Creativity: 5
the creativity of the campain is great!and i loved how u remade the textures of the cyclops and husark and ulfsark..althought it was ovis that u just remade the textures but hey, what ya going to do?but still it was great!
Map Design: 5
map design was good!mordor was..like mordor!and mount doom...great!!it realy looked like mount doom on the movie!and the black gate...AMASEING!rivendell was also good!and loreia was aswell!
Story/Instructions: 4
ehhh...the instructions would get allitle confuzing, but they did give the instructions..just..not in order...now for the story..now i would give u a 5 for story but it woulden't let me...but the story was basicly a short version of the movie!it was very good!
Additional Comments:

Creativity: 4
Me diga pra que perguntar o lar do Gandalf?
Ponto negativo pros modders.
Additional Comments: English is not my first languagee, also this work doesn't deserve me tryharding in english just to say how MUCH the riddles and mazes ripped my experience with this mod. I expected ingenuity, I finished wanting to wield the ring to plague them all.
