Well, I knew he would rush so I got to classical at 4:00. My economy was killed, and I got rushed still. He got scared and backed off, with the time I recovered and destroyed the forward base He shifted towers in to my base but, I got them.
Good game. In my opinion I am not quite experienced enough to give the game an accurate review. I think your opponent failed the rush though. He/She didn't manage to kill much villagers with all those turmas and You could have soon used a combo of underground passage and plague/earthquake to destroy his base.
However I have one suggestion which could help you better micromanage your economy; use the shift key. For example task the villagers to plant the granary, then hold down shift and right click the one elephant, then hold down shift and right click the other elephant. Then you can go off to micromanaging your unit production and battles without having to babysit your villagers as much. and you can use that to task military units as well, or on villagers to build things in a certain order, then start cutting trees or something when finished. You can also use that to tell your scout where to go, so that by the end of archaic you know where all the resources on the entire map are.
Also why you didn't make any infantry, as turmas counter archers, which is what you made? was it because the of the bonus that hades' archers get? I think possibly with a combination of infantry and archers you might have really handed him his ass. Or do you counter turmas with infantry because they are cavalry, or with cavalry because they are archers?
