AoM: The Titans |
Ok guys. I have had a lot of problems making this so I would just like to thank Jml and silvermoon for there help :). Ok this is about a villager called Ty from Egypt who becomes cursed by Circe and has to go on a journey of recovery and discovery to find out who really are his true friends and to become un-cursed. It takes a while for you to get into it so give it chance. Comments appreciated |

Playability: 3
Occupation: Most of the time i only have to tend to my home base, or do something else. Anyway, tending to my base is quite boring, especially with no enemy attacks to worry about.
Time consumption: It gets to the end too quickly, especially since it's too easy to defeat my enemies.
Balance: 2
Force Comparison: Almost always the forces I eventually end up with can outnumber and/or outclass the enemy side. Especially when the enemy only attacks you in the last mission, in which case I hardly have time to train any soldiers. Oddly enough, the last mission was well balanced in the first few minutes.
Challenges: Like I said, the enemy doesn't attack or counterattack, leaving me freedom to build up an army and squash 'em dumbos. The only near challenges are the Norse mission, in which I still won with relatively few losses, and the Final mission, in which I won nevertheless.
Creativity: 3
Style: Your 3 comes from this. This is a standard "kill these guys and get that".
Tech Control: You can build Titans, which is a little bad for the bad guys, considering it's already very bad for them. You should restrict techs like the Titan gate and forbid units such as the Wonder. Oh yeah in the Egyptian mission the scorpion man can be built, and since your hero is a modified one, you just need to make a squad of e'm and you whip the enemy's asses.
Map Design: 3
Terrain Mixing: In the maps that you made by yourself, the Terrain was extremely bland, mostly one texture or another in spread-out areas. The cliffs aren't much of an exception. Only in the edited Random maps did your terrain seem okay.
Eyecandy: There isn't much to speak of. The Hades gate is not a good idea, since you can see through the back section. Also the Egyptian base was very badly aligned.
Story/Instructions: 2
Story: There isn't much of a reason for Circe to pop up and bully random people, except for boredom, there isn't much background to this story, and most of the runestones are unexplained, especially with why people are defending them. I said MOST.
Instructions: This is bad, bad, bad and really bad. There were no hints to your objectives, you were not informed when a new objective pops up, and it is sometimes hard to see where you need to go. Also you need to improve on your messages. I mean "pink village" sounds totally dumb and "to the east" is not easy to make out where you are supposed to go.
Additional Comments: I'm sorry if my review points out so many negative aspects of this campaign, as opposed to positive. But you really need to improve on this, because I think that a campaign consisting of mainly 200 x 200 sized maps is going to dissapoint many players. I tell you though, I am not jealous or prejudiced at you. I'm just pointing out the things I think you should improve on.
P.S: Thank god you submitted a complete campaign.[Edited on 01/01/07 @ 09:54 PM]

On the NorthWest section of the map, if you keep the green village at the bottom and the woodpile at the top. |
