this is my second mod. it is of smaug from the lord of the rings.
smaug is a dragon for those of you who don't know that. also when you download this file and you install it correctly your nidhogg will look like the smaug.
if you think this sounds weird that i was giving so much information about the well known smaug is because some people are really picky and they need to know exactly what they're downloading before they download it.
You can call your texture file anything, like all the stuff you tried are supost to work as long as you have the line:
ReplaceTexture sfx n nidhogg/special n smaug
...in your anim file after every model file name. example:
//==============================================================================
anim Idle
{
SetSelector
{
set hotspot
{
version
{
Visual SFX N Nidhogg_IdleA
//-- auto generated by the bang animation tool
//-- do not hand edit these values
tag SpecificSoundSet 0.53 false WingsLarge checkVisible
//-- end auto generated section
ReplaceTexture sfx n nidhogg/special n smaug
}
}
}
}
Here's a tip, dont use the airbrush to paint your textures. Try using Macromedia Fireworks or some other good image editing program to change the colors.

Yes and no:
Yes you can copy the the part of the anim file, but it isn't the hole thing so only a one of the animations will have a diferent texture.
Just rename your texure file to "special n smaug" and add the line "ReplaceTexture sfx n nidhogg/special n smaug" after each animation type, just like the example I gave you.
or
You could give me your email and I would send the file corrected for you. But you would not learn, and you have a lot to learn!

nick, i'm making my harry potter mod thing right now and whenever i move him his abdomen and chest and thigh disappear and it looks bad. i think it has something to do with the anim file so can i send the files(data, models, textures, and anim) to you because you seem pretty good at modding(with anims). if you can help me with this i'd be greatful and i can include your name in the description.
ex. special thanks to nick3069 for helping with the anim files
p.s. this is my email fuzzyryanhuang@comcast.net. oh and i fixed my smaug thing. thanks a lot

Another thing you can try for your textures is to use sample images from paintings or photographs, another good source of textures is renderosity.com, its a digital artest Community ,they use a program like poser to make art, you will have to sign up but you can find almost anything there
