You play as a group of settlers who will explore a new land to find resources. I didn't know how to include music, so maybe someone here can write how to do that (Also please report any errors you find). |

It's good to see a Sp scenario around, most are Multiplayer scenarios, which in my opinon are much easier to make and half the effort. Anyway looks good, I will DL and review ~ Khan |

Okay, to make music just make a trigger with the condition "Always" and the effect "Music Play".
The scenario overall was pretty nice, GREAT eyecandy, a very good job on the design.
The only thing that stumped me though was the fact that there were basically no bonuses, aka just a Random Map with 1 on 1. The enemy got extra time to build, so on any difficulty other than Easy or maybe Medium they'll defeat you before you build up.
The way to stop that is to add CONTENT, as in to put little effects here and there using triggers. (For example, if you explore a certain part of the map, there are abandoned colossi there which convert to your side using triggers.) This way, you have an advantage over the computer, and have a fun time seeing what elements the map will hold. If you want to just make random maps however, there are excellent FAQs on RM scripting to make maps that vary like the ones the game provides.
Otherwise, a great scenario! |

Playability: 3
I didn't really find this scenario enjoyable, I found looking at the scenario more than playing it. It wasn't bad, just lacking creativity, there was nothing "in" it as in there was only 1 trigger to activate sounds, nothing to keep the player interested. Keeping in mind I didn't hate the scenario, I liked the way you included AI and I found the map desgin comendable.
Balance: 4
It was good, the AI wasn't Over Powered but because it had more time to build, it wasn't easy as such ethier. On Titan I lost and on Hard I won, pretty balanced to me, the only thing I found bad, I think that the recources were placed towards the enemy. anyway good job.
Creativity: 2
No fill. By that I mean, there was nothing to keep interested. Basically a random map without the Town centre and really good eye candy. basic rescources, one trigger for sound and AI...
Map Design: 5
Very nice eyecandy, I spent more time looking at the map (about 30 minutes) then I did playing it. Nothing was randomly placed and things were there for a resaon. I liked the way you placed the gold near the mountains and didn't place too many fish. I belive there needs to be a little bit more food, part from that; very nice.
Story/Instructions: 1
No story, no instructions. Random map pretty much.
Additional Comments:
Good first map, add some fill and you'll see nothing below 3. I'm sure you'll find that you will get better over time :). And not too soon, I will be review some of your pro maps.
congratulations ~ Khan |

Ok, thanks for the advice. Well it's just a simple map, nothing very special. I will try to learn how to use triggers, so the next one will hopefully be more fun to play. |

It doesn't matter how good a map is, as long as you keep working on scenario design in general. After all, future designers are needed to keep this community alive! I believe this was discussed in detail on one of the threads or something.
Anyway, good job Chris! |
